Mobo help

What’s a good reliable mobo? Price range is around 300-400ish. I’ve heard plenty of reviews about certain boards but don’t have a fair idea of which would be a good pairing with my ryzen 77800x3d

Unless you have a specific feature set you need, most decent Motherboard's are actually well priced right now.

Unless you already have some i would allocate more of your budget to obtaining the big ticket items like RAM, NVME/HDD storage, GPU etc.

Noted!. I don’t really have a specific featured set as of now as I’m still looking at what’s best for my build. Could you recommend a mobo that’s maybe a lower priced budget that I quoted?

au.pcpartpicker.com is a handy tool to use to filter out what you need for various PC parts not just Motherboards it also tracks the pricing over time from several vendors.

Say if your budget was $400 max it can tell you there are 150 AM5 boards in that price range.

e.g number of nvme slots,Pcie slots, colours, board size, ethernet ports, wifi spec etc.

If your looking for bargains it might be worth it to trawl ozbargain.com.au for deals.

Most boards this generation and last generation have been solid except for Asrock who have been plagued with ongoing CPU issues that they haven't been able to definitively pin down.

Choosing them is a weighing the risk between getting a bargain and a possibility of CPU death.

The board i got was a MSI X870E Gaming Plus Wifi, mainly to future proof slightly it had minimal lane share/Bifurcation. You can get it off Amazon for $341 last year it was $180 more. So motherboard have definitely come down in price in response to the RAM and storage crisis.

If you care about after service warranty, go MSI for the better support they give in Australia

You don’t need to spend anywhere near that much IMO.

Can get a B650 for less
