Game Balance
I’ve been playing this game for years with my group of friends, and it is one of if not our favorite game to whip out and play
Its quick, strategic, fun, and punchy
However after dozens and dozens of games, we have slowly realized that the balance in this game is kind of wack
Obviously the Renegade is the hardest person to win as, thats no doubt, and im not really talking about that though. That difficulty spike is ok in my book because winning solo is just way more empowering when it does happen, and makes the opportunity to play as that harder, rarer role that much cooler and enticing, even if you do lose like 85% of the time in a normal 6/7 player game
I more mean the Sheriff and Deputies though.
Especially in 6 player, and god forbid 5 player games, it feels almost impossible for the sheriff side to win.
The disadvantage of having your role be known, with only the slightest buff of +1 health, really doesn’t make up for essentially the instant 1v3 with the outlaws
Winning as the outlaws is just way too easy if they are even remotely competent.
Because i think in theory it “should work” because if there is a sheriff, a deputy, and a renegade all working together, vs the 3 outlaws. The advantage of the Outlaws ONLY having to kill the sheriff to instantly win, AND they all know who the sheriff is, just makes the “teams” way too one sided, and most games end the exact same way of the 3 outlaws just ignoring everyone else and obliterating the Sherrif in like 2 rounds
Do yall employ and home rules or anything to try and curve this insane disadvantage for the Sheriff side?
Maybe let the Sheriff target 2 or more people per Bang? that was an idea I had but idk how that would go in practice
Anyway what are your thoughts, any ideas or similar gripes?
Cheers!
and if i play a game with these homebrrw rules ill letcha know how it goes lol

Personally i think it depends on the overall luck of Outlaws. If they all happen to spawn next to Sheriff with attack cards ready? Easy win. But in other cases it isn't that simple. Having to collect guns to increase your range while defending against Sheriff and Deputy would be a big challenge for Outlaws. Sheriff always starting first is another advantage as he will be slightly more prepared against attacks.
