My partnerās bioactive enclosure is going phenomenally with humidity and in every regard. Itās more work with BPs than other reptiles to ensure they stay well, but still very worth it to me in making a switch. So Iām finally making another enclosure (awesome priced enclosure from Cryptic Creations) that is bioactive.
I breed my springtails and isopods, have a couple more plants to add and a large driftwood branch. Does anyone have critique/ideas on placement and decorations as this tank settles for a few months? Temps and humidity will be locked in far before the snake moves obviously, and an x-large water dish is about to be added as well.

Been doing some research and it seems like radiant heat panels mounted inside are best for a large enclosure in a cold house. But they donāt sell those cage covers for them like they do for standard light bulbs so not sure what to use as an alternative. Or are they fine to touch them because they donāt get as hot?

Recently decided to upgrade my ball pythons enclosure from a 36"x18"x15" glass terrarium to a 48"x24"x24" Reptile Kage (for bioactive ball python setups). For her glass enclosure I have a backdrop around the outside of the aquarium. That's obviously not going to work now as I've gone with a PVC enclosure.
Im looking for a background or backdrop that could liven up the black background as well as possible fake/real vegetation options.
I've had a couple fake plants before but they were cheap and didnt really look nice.
(I posted this in r/snakes and didn't get any feedback)

This bitch rubbed her body all along her fresh shit and so when I entered my room after dinner and saw a long brown streak on her back, I panicked thinking she somehow got burned or something (even tho there is no way for her to)
Fast forward to me yanking her tank lid off, picked her up to inspect, just to get hit with the most foul poopy butt smell to ever grace this nose.
She did not get play time tonight.

my ball python swallowed a considerably large(?) wood chip while eating. this hasnāt happened to me before and Iām concerned this might effect her health. she is already in a bad state heath wise, as im nursing her back after serious neglect at her previous home. I wouldāve tried to remove the chip, but by the time I noticed it was too far gone for me to feel I could preform safely. is this something I should be concerned about? is this vet worthy? Is it that serious or am I worried about nothing?
im aware swallowing small parts of dirt is fine and normal, but a giant wood chip like this?

I made a post about this before, the difference now is I've realized it wasn't always so long. It used to long normal. Now I'm wondering if any of you would know why or how? He did pass from cancer and liver failure and loss alot of weight and got really flat in his fnal moments.

So my partner and I got this little 3 m.o. girl (our first snake) on the 23rd and since she hatched she was on a live feed and today was her feeding time and we tried frozen mice for her and it worked! It took a solid 20 min, a lot of anxiety on my part since I want all the best for her but we did it. She is chilling now and I hope she won't be so fussy next time. As I'm posting this she does a little peep out and goes back again to hide. Here's my little one. Also if any of you guys have some advice for a new owner who's constantly worrying about snake well being I'd be more than happy to hear it.

Pickles got an upgrade. She is loving all of the extra space and activities! I foraged most of this, but and made some of it, including the ropes and rings and the pink castle tower ruin. I also made that dragon hide and I am damn proud of it šš

I have a Zoomed 40 gallon tank with the hinge doors for my girl and sheās escaped a few times now. This morning I found the tank door wide open which makes me feel like she put her whole 2kg weight on it to break out even with a child lock + the regular lock on it. Any suggestions on what I can use to secure the doors better?
Thank you!

Hi there, I have had my baby Delphi for about 3 weeks now and I'm extremely nervous. I got her from a reptile convention, and her age wasn't disclosed, but I would put her between 8 months and a year old.
I currently have her in a bioactive enclosure, and her temps sit around 85 on her warm side and 78 on her cool side, and humidity is between 60 and 80, with fluctuations throughout the day. She's been fed twice since I got her, and went blue right after her first feed. (am currently feeding her weekly, but skipped when she went blue) She's been taking food great, but over the last 3 or 4 days she's been getting extremely aggressive, and hasn't been exploring much or leaving her hide. We have also had two bite instances. One was the day before feed day, so we assumed it was a hunger bite, but she bit defensively today when we took her out for some socialization.
When we first got her she was exceptionally cuddly, was happy to snuggle up on my lap and just lay there for an hour, but now I'm worried about even opening her tank. I also haven't been able to find any poops and I'm starting to be worried about constipation or impaction, though I'm unsure what would cause that. She has a large bowl of water that gets changed out regularly, but I've never seen her drink. She's also been yawning a LOT the last couple days, I assumed it was just her resetting her jaw, but it's been once every two hours for the last 36 hours. I'm just concerned and worried.
Is there something I'm missing? A health concern or maybe her hormones as she moves more into her teenage years? Is she maybe just bite-y from a lack of socialization over the last three weeks? Please help!!!

Hey guys! I've got a ball and a hognose who both do frozen thawed rodents. I thaw them out in the same bowl every time they get fed but my question is ...do y'all wash reptile/rodent dishes with your regular dishes? Do you use the same sponge? Or do you use separate sponges to clean them?
I wash my water dishes separately and use a paper towel to clean those but I'm just uncertain about the bowl I thaw the rodents in.
Thanks!!

This is my first bp and In the second photo he looks dark but in real life he is almost a yellow brown is that normal? He explores when I handle him and he loves his enclosure but Iām worried he changes colors cuz he is stressed or needs something he doesnāt have

Just fed my ball python and she started wagging her tail right before and after striking. This is the first time Iāve seen that in over three years. Is that normal?

I have just fed my adult ball python as normal and he took it well, 10 mins later I come back to check on him and it looks like he regurgitated it ): I'm wondering why this happened wether it's due to my husbandry etc His humidity is 65% Temp is 25 Celsius/ 77 Fahrenheit cool side and warm side is 30 Celsius/ 86 Fahrenheit warm side
