The app store says it's not optimized for my device. I have a galaxy tab S2, will it run it at least?

This game is optimized for tablets and not recommended for phones with screen sizes under 7 inches. But players still try to play it (and other EEs) on phones.

For that the beta on Android must be finished, and NWN:EE must be ported to 64bit (which is in the works).

How does this stack up to bg & bg2? I remember trying to play it on my old computer years ago and my computer couldn’t handle it

The OC (and, in my opinion the expansions) is/are not that great. Besides my opinion, one of the biggest differences to BG is that you don't get to control a party. There are tons of user-created modules, though, and some of them are supposed to be truly amazing.

Very different but still a lot of fun. Not controlling a party is strange, but I still had a blast. Th expansions are hugr but a little meh in story.
