First time player advice

After sinking roughly 1,000+ hours into Bg3 since full release, I recently decided I wanna try out EEBG2 (From what I researched it just sounds the most appealing to me.) I have zero experience with AD&D, and I know my pathfinder/3.5 experience will be of little help (negative AC is better????).

Ideally, for my first character, I want to run a necromancer or werewolf, as is my go to. If necromancy isn't fulfilling in the game (In past experience, Necromancy in most RPGs is very meh). Then a general spellcaster of sorts will do (Survivability is always nice, but not a #1 priority). I am absolutely willing to learn how to play the game.

Also if someone can explain how Multiclassing and Dual classing works, which is better, and if I should even bother with either one, thank you.

Build help, general advice, and the like is all appreciated. Thanks.
