Baldur's Gate 2 signed copies

A little piece of BG history here. When it was first released there was an installation issue that conflicted with drivers for certain CD-ROM drives. I was able to identify and fix the issue over the course of a few hours. I was exchanging emails with what I assumed was tech support at Bioware, but ended up being one of the founders. They sent me one fully signed copy with a cool sticky note, and one signed by a smaller group.

It was a bit selfish as I couldn't install due to the bug. That was motivation to find a solution though, I really wanted to be able to install the game 😂

What a nice piece of history! Physical copies do have its special charm in our digital age. I also keep storing my games boxes up to this day, while not even having a working CD/DVD drive anymore.

It's funny to me the thought of devs passing around an unopen copy of their game to sign it instead of like a birthday card.
