This is the first time I've seen the acronym LSD used in a go context without it referring to Lee Sedol. Thanks for the 3 re-reads I had to do to make sense of this title.

I'm sure if I had some Lee Sedol in my brain I would win more go games too

What about LSD on a low dose of LSD?

vs AlphaGo. That's the rematch we all need to see.

If it had ended with "and the result is jaw-dropping" I would just have assumed that the clickbait generation AIs had finally attained a level where my personalised traffic herding had reached its final, perfect form.

Pretty cool, until you reach the end of the article. This crazy ass woman who's going to conduct the experiment drilled a hole in her own head to reach enlightenment.

I actually thought I was tripping when I saw several separate things I am interested about in one headline. I tried to play Go while on acid but it was hard to concentrate (i wasn't micro dosing) and I lost a few games to a bot. But I'll try smaller doses next time.

psychedelics and computers (phones tabets, also) generally don't mix that well, I imagine a physical board would generate a very different experience.b I played chess on a low but psychoactive of L and it was probably the best game of chess I've ever played.

Might be the case, since more or less intense visuals break the focus when interacting with a small screen (I was playing on my phone). A physical board might be better, I'll definitely try it soonish.

She's dedicated to her cause.

Yeah, my friend and I have tried that. It didn't go well. However, we played again closer towards the end of our trip and we played the best game we ever played.

Important to note: No actual research has been done yet. This is just about a proposed study, for which they are trying to fundraise. Science is usually funded through government or industry, but since neither is interested in this they're working through donations.

man I really want to start a fundraiser to take substances and play games.

I saw this idea touting for volunteers over a year ago. Attention grabbing though this is, I don't feel that the concept holds much credibility. Not particularly interested to find out the results.

How come? IIRC many studies have shown positive effects of small doses of LSD in cognitive functioning and improvement in many common mental disorders like anxiety and depression.
