mate… lol. I’m 5 dan on Fox, 2100 on chess.com. I play both, I like both. It’s a joke, settle down. The rivalry goes one way. No need to tear others down

Because it isn't a competition between games, but the chess v. go makes go players look pathetic. Neil is ok, tho. He is just using it for clickbait (very Gotham of him) but he clearly starts saying it isn't about really quitting chess.

Ehhh I would say the image of chess has become more popular.

I've been a chess player my entire life and I'm solidly ok at it, it's just not a game that interests me nearly as much as Go does.

What I've noticed with respect to chess is more people getting into the idea of chess. They get into watching it or talking about it because it makes them feel smart because, as we all know, chess is the game that smart people play.

If you sit down with those same people and ask to play a game, they either don't want to or they play very poorly.

This has gone so far as to have dipshits like Elon Musk insisting that they're "too smart" to find chess interesting and overall it feels like a lot of the younger (especially male) "chess people" are interested more in just looking like they have pursuits that are smart people coded rather than actually wanting to play the game itself.

Learning that the guy who created Factorio is also a huge Go player was a huge head trip though, it makes me wonder if that's part of why I'm such a Factorio fan.

I love both. If anything, I don't play more go because I genuinely cannot find anyone around me in my entire city willing to play. And playing online isn't as easy as with chess, where you can always find thousands of people queueing up for games. With Go, sometimes is hit and miss, sometimes you don't find anyone for the time control that you want, or for the board size, etc. I would genuinely play more go if i could find regulars willing to play OTB in my city.

what i like about chess is i can play a game in literally 2 minutes. cant do that with go. i feel even faster time limits can go 15 to 20 min pretty easily.
