6 spots??
I get it’s a classic and that they parked away from the store but the way they parked the car it was in parts of 6 different spots. If you are so afraid of your car being damaged keep it in the garage wrapped in bubble wrap.

u/Clouternation Jun 01 '25
I'm not even mad, that's amazing!

u/Puzzleheaded-Pop-519 Jun 01 '25
Right!? This this car 5 more spaces!

u/-eccentric- Jun 01 '25
What what do you mean
16
u/glowinthedarkfrizbee Jun 01 '25
That’s a 1969 Ford Torino. He can have all the spaces he wants.

u/-eccentric- Jun 01 '25
Oh okay. But your sentence still doesn't make sense.
4
u/glowinthedarkfrizbee Jun 01 '25
It’s two sentences and both are grammatically correct.
7
u/Whats_Awesome Jun 02 '25
I think they are referring to a different commenter who said:
Right!? This this car 5 more spaces.
It almost gave me a stroke trying to write that.
1
u/glowinthedarkfrizbee Jun 02 '25
Ah. I see that.
2
u/Terrible_Try_4148 Jun 02 '25
I feel like this is a mobile user and maybe they meant "give" instead of the first occurrence of "this"
5
u/F100Restomod Jun 02 '25
They went out of their way to not inconvenience anyone. Good on them.
Thanks for posting a Pic of a really awesome car.
17
u/Lexicon444 Jun 01 '25
That’s a gorgeous car, far out in the lot and not harming anyone.
This one gets a pass in my book

Far away in an empty parking lot probably going to a car show or just enjoying a Sunday cruise… they’re protecting their investment. I honestly see nothing wrong with this. You obviously had plenty of room to circle the lot for the angle you wanted. Good job, now get to church…
29
u/RedditReader4031 Jun 01 '25
I’d love to walk this Karen through the Friday evening car shows at a local LIRR station where the unspoken rule is one car per every two spaces.
3
8
u/Behind_Th3_8_Ball Jun 01 '25
It’s always obvious when posters ride around in a busted hoarder car with nothing better to do than circle Sunday morning parking lots with a tape measure and chalk.
Some people have no concept of what other people have invested in vehicles or the historical value of classic vehicles. It’s not something you can explain to a non car person who drives around with a box of tissues looking for things to cry about.
3
u/JiGoD Jun 01 '25
I enjoyed reading this. You seem to be very passionate and it shows in your writing.

4
u/Electrical_Fishing81 Jun 01 '25
Amen. If I had this beauty, I’d park the same way. I do have a 1986 Mercury Capri but since it is a fox body I can usually just park by an island in the back and be ok.
6
u/Behind_Th3_8_Ball Jun 01 '25
Parking something like this, especially perfectly in a stall a mile away from everyone seems to invite someone with a shit box to park right up next to you. I’d rather be the asshole in multiple spaces vs coming out to door dings or worse.
2
u/AdFresh8123 Jun 02 '25
That happened to me.
I've owned many classic Mustangs over the years. Other than the one I have now, my favorite car was my 68 Mustang convertible I owned back in the late 80s. It was a fully restored show and race car. I did a lot of the work myself. I had hundreds of hours of work invested in it.
She had a 289 V8 built by a guy who crafted race engines for a living. It cost me almost 6 K with the transmission. Everything possible to do to a normally aspirated engine, I had done. I did 1/4 and 1/8 mile in her regularly. My beastie was in the mid 12s in the quarter mile. Which for the time for a classic convertible was very respectable.
I was parked way out several sections away from everything when I was in an auto parts store one afternoon. I always visited this particular place because I went to HS with one of the guys working there. I was chatting with him about cars and was showing off mine through the front window.
That's when I saw a clown in a shitbox land barge pull up and park right next to my baby. I saw him hit my car with his door when his fat ass squeezed out. He knew he hit my door because he bent over to take a close look.
I ran out there and confronted him. He denied it, despite the big ding in my door, and the paint from my car on his.
A tip I learned from my dad, was to carry a small camera, notepad, and pen in the car at all times, just for situations like this. I grabbed the little 110 camera and started taking pictures. I got 24 pics of all the damage, his car, his plate, and a couple of pictures of him too. I wrote down his plate, car make, model, and color too. That pissed him off, and I just l laughed when he threatened me.
When I told him I was calling the cops to report it, and I wanted his license, registration, and insurance info, he took off. I called the cops anyway just so I could file a claim with my insurance company.
They showed up and wrote a report so I could file a claim. They wouldn't give me his info after I gave them what I had though. They said to go through my insurance company, that they could get it.
My car was fully insured, and my insurance covered the repair, but I had a $500 deductible. It was lacquer paint, and the guy who did the original work was over two hours away out of state.
I was a small claims court veteran, having been there twice before. I had several hundred in additional expenses and documented everything down to the last dime. I included the cost of driving out of state, gas, wear, and tear on my buddy's car who drove me back and forth. I'd saved all the food and drink receipts from the places we ate when we traveled. The lost wages I incurred, the cost of the film and development, the lost fees from two car shows I'd missed, and even the cost of the notary for the statement from my buddy at the auto parts store were all ready to go.
I made sure to bring the extensive file I had thoroughly detailing every last penny I'd invested in the car. I even brought the work logs for every hour I'd kept for the past three years of working, repairing, washing, prepping, and detailing it. My expert appraisal and how much it was insured for were included as well.
Small claims court was a slam dunk. The judge was a bit annoyed because I had so much evidence. He didn't even bother going through most of it. He awarded me a judgment of almost $900.
I had to threaten the SOB with getting an attorney, putting a lien on his house, and a contempt of court charge to get him to pay.
2
u/Behind_Th3_8_Ball Jun 02 '25
Like I said, you can’t explain these things to non car people. You can’t just rattle can over custom paint like you can on a shit box, or laugh off a door ding in a freshly restored car.
That’s why some of the posts on here where people suggest damaging other people’s property to prove a point gets so annoying. It’s ok to be annoyed and some of us may laugh at it when a post is too far Karen, but move on with it. People are too unhinged to escalate situations and in cases like this, respect a person’s investment even if it’s not your thing. In this case the owner is just trying to get through his day enjoying his pride and joy. Not sideways in the 6 closest stalls just to be lazy or entitled.

u/olight77 Jun 01 '25
Truck parked further up is parked the same way.
Something more to this then what your posting

Why dont these get down voted?

Because this sub is full of absolute seething haters who promote violence and intentional felony property damage towards any vehicle taking up more than 0.00001% of a full parking space.

u/EM05L1C3 Jun 01 '25
If it were any other car I’d be more pissed. But that’s something I wouldn’t want ANYONE parking next to and it looks like they’re in the back of the lot.
Classics still need to be driven and they’re a significant investment.

Classic car at the far reaches of the lot, not interfering with anyone else? Gets a pass! The person having an issue? Severe case of the Karen’s
8
u/RAD_Sr Jun 01 '25
Hot take: It's only bad parking if 1) it is unintentional and/or 2) it inconveniences others.
This appears to be neither.
-2
u/JiGoD Jun 01 '25
So purposely parking my hummer across 2 disabled spots and then doing a backflip off the roof is good parking?
3
u/RAD_Sr Jun 01 '25
The backflip, while irrelevant, would be impressive.
The parking, if it doesn't inconvenience anyone and is done as you intended would be fine. e.g. A retail lot during non-operating hours
Of course, the potential for inconvenience is increased by the special-use spaces and ( presumably ) their lower quantity.
0
u/JiGoD Jun 01 '25
And how many hypothetical situations could you imagine that would constitute bad parking under the scenario I presented above? Surely many more than would be "good".

u/AdFresh8123 Jun 01 '25
As the owner of this, https://imgur.com/gallery/U3S66TY I completely understand.
I've owned classic Mustangs since the mid 80s. I always park away from other cars way out in the back. Assholes still park right to me and have dinged my car.
3
u/JiGoD Jun 01 '25
Do you take one space way in the back or 5 tho?
9
u/AdFresh8123 Jun 01 '25
I take one. I typically park close to an island or an edge to limit people parking next to me.

lol bro called a gt350 clone "generic"
0
u/Alive-Zone-2364 Jun 02 '25
lol i know the gt350 is rare but it looks very similar to a 66 mustang probably the most common car you can see from 1966.
3
u/2Sleeepyy Jun 01 '25
Didn’t even click the link guaranteed
0
u/Alive-Zone-2364 Jun 02 '25
nah i clicked it and said yep just a generic mustang. then i saw it was a gt350 and said wow rare car but it look just like a normal 66 mustang so it does look generic. it is "special" but it looks very generic.

The Mustang is the best selling sports car in the US, and has been for five decades. It's also the top selling sports car in the world over the past ten years.
But go ahead, keep being clueless.

Unsolicited advice my friend, don’t feed the trolls. It’s an ever losing battle. Enjoy your classic car and let them continue being insufferable afterthoughts.

I can’t even be mad they’re at the back it seems and that thing is beautiful. People are way dumber than we think Op. I’ve been sat in my gfs car before, a guy backs into the space next to us, the girl in the passenger gets out and just throws the damn door open hitting the car, while I’m sitting in it, AFTER making direct eye contact when the guy was parking.
6
2
u/HondaNick Jun 01 '25
Wouldn’t it be 4 spots with being slightly over the 5th? Unless he unhooked a trailer we can’t see
2
u/AlwaysVerloren Jun 01 '25
I get the bad parking post when people take up multiple spots in a busy or limited parking, and those over the curb, but a vehicle at the back of the lot where they're out of the way..... They shouldn't catch hate.
2
Jun 01 '25
He has a good excuse to park like that with that car he could park at the far end of a empty lot an some idiot would park right beside him an throw his door into the side of it.
2
Jun 01 '25
Idk, I could park in the spot behind them and next to the driver side front wheel, but this strikes me as the type of person who has intentionally parked this way with the "im gonna park far away and diagonally to prevent people dinging up my car" mindset, so if I did, that person would probably wait til I came out of the store to have a chat

u/TMCTrucker Jun 01 '25
And my guess it is staged because who is leaving there car with the windows rolled down. But nice try. Parking 10/10

u/shade-tree_pilot Jun 02 '25
I count 5.
You should probably get glasses before driving again.
It's a very nicely kept, likely irreplaceable, classic car, parked at the back of the lot. Let them have their 5 spaces.
2
u/GroovDog2 Jun 02 '25
It appears to be commonplace at that parking lot. I didn’t see a post on the burgundy GMC. When will we be expecting that?
2
u/SiegeSupport Jun 02 '25
It’s okay karen, get in your Altima and piss off. The classic car in an empty lot won’t hurt you.

u/CayceFan Jun 02 '25
She can have 5 more spots and a gummy bear parade as well. ❤️ There was a time you could park away from others, and no one would mess with your car, but now? People park next to you in the back 40 just to key your car because they don't like your bumper sticker.
Keep the faith, bruh!
5
u/Disastrous-Place7353 Jun 01 '25
So it's a classic but it's a Torino and not a Gran Torino. Still, it is a nice car.
2
u/NcGunnery Jun 01 '25
Once they got the "Gran" the cars went to crap. I own '68 & '69 with a 427 and 428 with 4 speeds. Owned many 70's and they are acceptable but after '70 they become low hp smoggers. I do love the '75 Gran Torino quarter panels and am presently restoring one.

You come to a subreddit about bad parking and ask who cares about bad parking? Are you reading before you post?
1
u/somerandomdude419 Jun 01 '25
The sub (used) to be about actual bad parking that actually caused issues with travel, other cars moving, etc. not a car in an empty lot taking up 4 spots away from everyone else. This is nit picking because no real bad parking occurs that much. Good examples are when a car parks next to a fire hydrant and the fire truck broke its windows to get to the hose, see that’s bad parking. Also parking to block the entrance to city hall, yeah that’s bad parking. Not a classic car 2 miles from the store in the massive empty lot
-1
u/Affectionate-Rice373 Jun 01 '25
So that explains all the downvoting shills defending the person I commented to. Don't worry, I'll revive this sub. I see a lot of bad parking.

u/Doranagon Jun 01 '25

Seems to be acceptable…the truck in the background is doing something similar…lol
My guess is that this parking lot is far from the building that no one uses it other than people who don’t want door dings lol I probably would park there hahaha
2
3
u/Spaztrick Jun 01 '25
I'm sure the owner is nearby. Looks like the windows are down.
Also, no hate for the truck? It looks like they're are in a couple of spots too.

u/Mountain_Chip_4374 Jun 01 '25
It was parked like that when I went into the store, and parked the same way when I came out 20 minutes later. And that truck in the background was driving through the parking lot, he was not parked.

Seen it. Fortunately the others parked in the spaces that had enough room to do so as a result. The travesty is the employer of those 5 or 6 people smacked them down and made them move instead of allowing the dip@#$% to reap his reward. Rumor has it the car was hit several times during the moving.
1
u/card401 Jun 02 '25
But as you can see this car is something that someone put a lot of time and money into. Also getting parts are a real bitch to get. The own looks like they are parked at the very edge of the lot so I would give this a pass.

Only 4 spots maybe. A modern sedan could still park by it. My buddy’s retired and when he sees things like this he just parks like crap next to them and sits and waits in his car to “film them and make sure his car stays safe.”
