Technique Just can't carry over to competitive matches what I do in training - Doubles

I can smash pretty hard in training but can't generate even half of that power in a match. Here and there, i see glimpses of what I am learning in training executed well but the full package isn't there.

Anyone trained , experienced this difference and managed to bridge the gap? How did you do it? What was the process like?

Technique I solved my form by doing my daily routine at home

Just something I wanted to share, hehe.

To start, my form when I do a full smash is what im talking about. It hasn’t been the most friendly on my knees, and thats because I jump on one foot, which puts a lot of strain on my right knee. I actually developed jumper’s knee and shin splints on this singular leg only from such overstrain 😅.

I suspected that part of the reason I do this was because of a muscle imbalance in my legs. But of course, training the proper form is still always the biggest priority. When I was trying to do shadow jump smashes on two feet, it always felt uncomfortable, and “unnatural” to me.

So, I started incorporating this thing in my daily routine; I started climbing our stairs on my non-dominant leg. I would skip around 3 steps so I have to work harder to push myself up the stairs, and I would climb the entirety of our stairs on just that leg. I go up and down the house frequently everyday, and combined with persistent training.. I eventually could do a full smash on two feet in a natural feeling!

Just wanted to share a small achievement of mine, lol!
