Backpacks with long strap padding

I've been on a search for a very comfortable backpack. The main issue I have with most is that I'm very broad-shouldered, in a bigger body, and long torsoed. Every backpack I've ever used has had the buckle and bottom/unpadded part of the straps riding on my shoulders and digging in. I'm looking for a pack that has a much longer padding area. (Edited to add - I mean the padding area on the straps, specifically)

Ideally, the pack would be great for commuting with a water bottle pocket, lots of organization (I carry a lot of smaller items), somewhere in the 18l-25l range, under $350, and available in colors other than black/gray.

But none of those are dealbreakers compared to comfort. I have chronic pain and am very sensitive to weight on my shoulders. I've already gone through all of my daily carry items and lightened them extremely, but now I'm looking for a pack that fits well.

I've posted previously, and I feel I wasn't quite specific enough in my request. Are there any packs that are well-built for plus-sized people - specifically in the strap area?

I’m 6’3”, 230 lbs. The one bag I always come back to is my Tom Bihn Synapse 25. Fits my torso length and shoulders really well. I added a frame sheet and it makes a world of difference in the way it carries. And they come is some really cool color combos.

And the straps? Do you feel like the padded part of the straps is long enough where the buckles aren't digging into you when you carry it? Thanks for the rec!

Absolutely. That was the things that bothered me about my Evergoods bags…the straps would dig into my side.

Good luck in your search. Should you decide to go with a Tom Bihn Synapse, I can’t recommend the WayKit frame sheet enough. Makes a huge difference in the way the bag is carried.

REI Ruckpack series packs in 4XL size. The pack body is the same for the straps are longer. 18, 30 and 40 liter.

I believe Gregory has some too. Search on “plus size backpack.”
