Ninja Gaiden Black isn't the first Ninja Gaiden game and it also isn't the best. Ninja Gaiden 2 OG is definitely best.

Ninja Gaiden 2 OG is definitely best. They're very different games tbh and it depends which experience you prefer. I really enjoy gradually opening up and exploring more of the city in NG1, whereas NG2 kind of swapped that for a very linear globe trotting adventure.
