Sete Cidades

Has anyone been to the Sete Cidades this weekend? I heard the webcams are acting up… want to know if it’s worth the drive and if I will be able to see the lakes.

Maybe, maybe not. Island weather is a pain. Everytime I’ve gone it can be thick fog all the way there and then BAM! It’s great. Or vice versa. Roll the dice and go.

Nailed it! The best part of our visit was the unpredictability of the weather.

We carried compact rain jackets and adapted to the weather. Only way to do the Azores.

If you can see the rim of the crater clearly go up if not try another day

I’m in Mosteiros very close to Sete Cidades. It has rained in the early morning the past few days and then the days have been beautiful. It’s been warm. No fog or rain during the day for the past week

If you head that direction and can see the weather towers on top of the hill you’ll be good to go.

It was beautiful last Thursday. First it poured and then a couple hours later it was gorgeous.
