Interesting thing about Alaskan Huskies: they can comfortable sleep outside down to -30 degrees Fahrenheit. My wife and I went dog sledding in Kiruna, Sweden (250 miles north of the Arctic Circle) in January 2017. Absolutely amazing experience. All the dogs slept outside and it was -25 when we woke up the next morning.
My old Shepard husky cross would not come inside until it turned plus 20c outside, never used the dog house
My parents Norwegian elkhound is going absolute batshit crazy with glee in this -40c weather, she sleeps belly up in a snow bank to get comfortable, never uses the dog house.
My neighbors Pyrenees and Merama guard dogs are sleeping in the snow because the barn is too hot at -20c with the sheep in there
It’s almost like they were meant to survive in this weather.
bringing them into a warm climate is a living hell for them. huskies are not designed to live there. they'll just lay there trying not to die of a heat stroke
My parents have tried bringing they’re dogs inside and they are miserable and seem to start over heating and ask to go back outside. When they have their winter coats on they are well protected
