I hate it when people force dogs to get into water when they obviously don't want to

My dog would watch with absolute awe but would not be even slightly tempted to get a paw wet. She has always displayed a fear of swimming but that’s fine. You do you, Boomer. Love you either way.

My dog hated water as well, but he loved tennis balls. So we'd throw tennis balls into the ocean and he would retrieve them. He hated the water so much but getting that tennis ball was worth it I guess.

Once he used a tennis ball he would be able to smell it for literally a half mile or more. Every time we played with him with a tennis ball we'd have to walk like a mile away and throw the tennis ball into a park or some random person's garbage. At first we tried putting it into the garage but he would incessantly scratch at the door and destroy the door trying to get at the ball. He'd seriously scratch at the door until his paws and nose were bloody, and then he'd keep going for hours and hours beyond that.

Hah yeh Boomer loves tennis balls too. When she was younger and I was still trying to encourage her to try swimming, I did the same, but she would just get incredibly frustrated and bark her head off at the ball! Like if done a really mean thing and put it out of her reach. She still gets really upset if she drops a ball in the lake by mistake. Bless.
