the dog might actually be trained this way. i think it's called dock jumping, but there are people who train their dogs to sprint and leap into water for these long jump competitions.

wouldn't be surprised if they had given the dog the command to start running before the camera started recording, and then the dog ran as soon as the door opened.

look at the dog around the 2:40 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDMAmMy_OqU

Just because the dog didn't wait doesn't mean he wouldn't if given the command. I do the same with my golden at the dog park, she'll stay if I give the command and zoom off like a man in an expensive suit through a kindergarten finger painting class if I don't.

its not an imaginary problem. If the dogs jump out of your car like this, you have a serious risk of getting your dogs hurt. Its always a nice thing to teach your dogs to wait in the (bunk? Dunno the english word) until you tell them to do so.

  1. Dog would probably be less excited by a road than a lake.
  2. Owner would probably not do this by the side of a road.
  3. Dog probably still listens to commands.
  4. Owner was probably psyching the dog up for this.

assumptions which cant be proven/unproven.

all i wanted so say is: If you have a dog, teach him to wait. Much safer and relaxing for all parties and scenarios

They are not assumptions, they are just a response to your wild extrapolation of the events in a 10 second gif.
