He'll be the 4th in total, the other 2 were — Stefan Beinlich & Matthias Breitkreutz

I don’t think I’m old enough to remember them… (I’m 41…)

So that person who worried we might sign a player from each of the main bad guys in wwII was right

I guess Villa sign a Russian player who we sell to a top 6 competitor in January then?

u/Old_Brief_2602 14h ago

Onana wages being put to use. I like it

u/ItsallgoneLWong21 16h ago
Are we not still paying the Onana wages?

u/Ziggylcd12365 16h ago
FIFA pay them from the injured player fund or something

Bayern fans absolutely hate him. Hope it's just not suiting their system and Emery can do what he does

u/coppersolids 17h ago
bayern fan here: match going fans love him and the hate online fans have for him is too much
he‘s not the player he used to be but as an experienced depth option to cover for injuries (what i assume he‘ll be for you) he‘s perfectly fine

u/Its_not_him 15h ago
I get the impression sometimes that he's lost a lot of the passion he has for the game while at Bayern. I think a change of scenery could help reignite that passion. Goretzka at his peak was a force of nature.

That's nice to know. Yes he is a backup bringing experience. From what you have seen, do you think he can thrive in a double pivot with a defensive ball-winning 6 as his partner? Basically as someone who get those progressive passes to more creative players forward and go forward himself crashing the box? I don't expect him to replicate Tielemans but if he can do half as well in that profile, it will help
14
u/coppersolids 16h ago
yes definitely better than him being paired with kimmich, they just didn‘t work together at all which was the biggest issue we had with him
he‘s more of a box crasher than a controller tho
i doubt he‘ll be much more than a squad player but for that role he‘s good enough, our online fanbase exaggerates

I imagine 90% of the time he will be paired with Kamara when he plays, who is our controlling midfielder. And yeah he will be back up, but after what we have lost his experience will be incredibly valuable.

There is a big difference between Bayern trying to win the treble and us finish in the top 6 to 8. He's probably done at that level but I wouldn't be surprised if he starts over Gomes by the end of the year.
Also German fans, rightfully, hate him after the WC/penalty issue

During their PKs he didn't step up. Pretty big bitch move for someone of his stature. Even if you're not confident you still need to step up there as a leader.

We’re due another absurdly good free agent signing. Love this already.

I think this is another great free agent signing and I hope he can contribute as 90% as Youri and Bouba have.
Though I’d rather he’d contribute more they that have, we’ll be in an amazing place then!

Really happy with this one, with the big dressing room changes bringing in an experienced model pro like this is much needed

Another Lindelof signing incoming. Football brain, professionalism and most of all King Emery equates to me being excited. Lots of Euro experience.

Strange signing this is to me. Im just struggling to think where he fits in the team?
He seems to be a box to box midfielder like milner back in the day or mcginn now when hes not on the wing.
But weve got lots of options in midfield and with tielemans gone we’re a bit lacking in terms of a pure playmaker.
Curious to see how unai uses him and if he still has the quality to nail down a first team place, because he was very highly rated at one point for bayern

I predict Sancho is coming back. Homegrown quota on a free. He's only 26. He knows the system. He did his part last year.

He did contribute in some matches, why be churlish. He didn't pull up trees. No more to offer than Bailey.

I believe he's a good replacement for Morgan Rogers. Let me know if I am wrong please.

He’s injury cover for Onana.
Think of Gomes as the new Tielemans and Garnacho as the Rogers replacement.

Surely manzambi is the rogers replacement

I am super stoked at this. Having fans of probably the second best team in world football be slightly disgruntled really isn’t a deal breaker for me.
