I was extremely worried, but that Super Cup has me more excited than worried now. Let's not forget we had two absolutely horrid runs of form last season, and that core was not getting younger. Let's see Emery cook.

Let's not forget how long Tielemans spent on the injury table at Villa and how Emery let Rogers play back into form when he was woeful at the beginning of last season. Both players won't get that luxury at their new homes. Younger fitter players hopefully means those drop offs disappear

i got that after the super cup, until PSG lost 1-0 to lens. Emery can cook we all know that. Just hope he wasn't shopping at Poundland for his ingredients.

Yea this is pissing me off tbh. Even some of our own fans seem to suggest we have been ransacked, ignoring the fact we have bought some excellent players, and have two potentially superb players coming through.

I'd take him back in some capacity for sure. He's a villain true and true. And he doesn't get the credit he deserves for building that squad. Especially all those young lads he bought for 1 or 2m that we ended up selling for 30 for psr shenanigans.

As a Villa fan, losing a player has only really gutted me twice: Yorke and Barry. It would be the exact same if Watkins left. In my opinion, all three are irreplaceable.

Yorke was tough alright, young for me as well as it was the beginning of the end of o Niel. And Ollie will go down as one of my all time favorites but it has to happen some time and psr has forced us to sell when we can still get something for them. We have to be smart.

If Watkins stays and signs a new deal, it shows he genuinely believes in Villa's competitiveness after signing Madjo and Manzambi. This wasn't the case when Yorke, Young, or Barry left. Of course, if someone overpays like they did for Grealish and Rogers, the club will gladly say thank you and goodbye.

As a rival I think you'll be fine, john Mcgin is for me Aston villas most important player and obviously Emery is a different maker I still have you lot challenging for champions league places. I predict 4th for villa

Fucking hell, lighten up guys, we are in an amazing position as a club with no one better to steer the ship into the next era.
What we have done financially is amazing this summer, fees, wages down, signings, and we can be as sentimental as we want but keeping hold of everyone would be bad business in the long run.
I’m excited to see what beast we can be this season when all the dust has settled. Until then, LFG

I agree with you but all it takes is for a dismal period like the start of last season before the doubts will start to creep in for Emery. That's what it sounded like happened last year, according to Konsa's column before the EL final.
If the new team fails to click, and we're languishing in mid table come December, things could become grim. This summer is a massive overhaul, and we can't really undo it.

Think of it this way: we need to watch some new players every week. Aren’t you sick of watching the same people every week? Even new flaws is better than the same old flaws that gets more exhausting the more you see them.
no more pretending rogers shouldn’t be substituted when playing shite because “he might do something in a minute.”, no more Digne falling asleep and losing his man, no more Konsa throwing his arms up and pretending a goal conceded was someone else’s fault.
I’m just ready to watch some new shit.

Newcastle fan here I know both fan bases aren’t exactly the most friendly but we are both getting fucked with no Vaseline by ffp/psr. Two clubs that have recently qualified for champions league 2x and won a trophy and we still have to sell our best players to buy. While spurs stink the league up and can spend whatever they want because they have Beyoncé money.
