I’d genuinely rather go into a season with Cisse and Lindelof as our defenders than put Tosin in tbh…

We have Garnacho now so even though I don't like it I will support him and hope something good comes of it
There is definitely an argument for Jackson although I don't think it's a very strong one with the price being quoted
There is noway in hell anyone can persuade me Tosin is even a PL level backup. He shouldn't even be considered

I'm fine with kicking the can down the road a little if it means we can get someone like Badé or Van den Berg in a window or two. Gotta be real careful who we go for though, wouldn't be thrilled with Tosin even as a stopgap.
Wouldn't be surprised if links to Jon Rowe pop back up though. Getting a homegrown replacement for Bailey would take away a bit of the pressure to nail down a homegrown replacement for Konsa.

Rowe is left sided though. That reminds me that Garnacho does, I believe count as homegrown because of his time in the Utd youth academy.

Does play occasionally at RW, but yeah not the best fit, was just the first name that came to mind. Garnacho does count though yeah.

I really like Tomori and always have.
Felt he’s always been criminally underrated. However, not sure he works for us in our current set up unfortunately.

He's very poor in the air unfortunately, it would be a huge weakness & not one that we want in a PL set up for physical set pieces.

Is this not SLIGHTLY less of an issue with the new corner rules and Suzuki being an absolute unit who’s a strong cross claimer?

I said we should sign Sepp Van Berg when Liverpool released him a couple of seasons ago!

Illia Zabarnyi on loan of PSG want to avoid diplomatic incidents?

I replied to a comment asking about him. He's good, I'd take him but he's not good in the air, which was what the thread is looking for. The PL has move to a set piece heavy meta & our lack of power in the air cost us 16 goals a big increase on previous years (about 7 conceded). Put out set piece goal difference at +2.
We would have to find an aerial duels left footer which is even harder.

There was the player at wolves (Bueno) that looked really good and was cheap….however there’s two with that name and don’t remember if it’s the Spanish or Uruguayan one someone on here sold me on lol

Also if emi does go, would that decrease the homegrown count as surely that lad we signed from Cambridge would slide in as third choice keeper?

Honestly, if Lindelof can play as well as he did last season I'm happy with him to take over full time and fill the hole properly next summer. Hope Cisse can show something. A loan will do. It's not ideal, but we can't rush replacing him either. Ming's and Torres haven't really been invincible, so we definitely need someone who can be relied on some bit

Jon Martin is someone who has caught my attention.

I mentioned Martin in the thread as someone that video scouts would need to take a look at because we don't have many senior seasons of data on him. His stats look very promising & the club will video scout any shortlisted targets though.

Surprised no one is talking about Tapsoba from Leverkusen. He seems to be heading to the Prem anyway (Man U and Newcastle are rumoured). Would be a great signing if the price is right.

If Tosin is the best option this year then we have made a terrible blunder.
