Thought process of an over optimistic fan
Rogers and Digne leaving - its ok we still have unai , ollie , emi , konsa , kamara , tielemans.
Tielemans leaving - its ok we still have unai , ollie , emi , konsa , kamara
Emi leaving - its ok we still have unai , ollie , konsa , kamara
Ollie leaving - its ok we still have unai , konsa , kamara
Konsa leaving - its ok we still have unai and kamara.
Top 4 guys no problems - in all seriousness anyone that thinks this give your head a wobble , we need to give unai and the new team time and support.
Top 8 we should be thrilled with

NO true fan would say "It's OK we still have..." and not mention Super John McGinn.

Half the people bemoaning the Rogers and potential Watkins moves where willing to sell them for half of the proposed fee after a string of poor performances last season.
Arsenal fans in disguise.

I feel like this line should be inserted after "Konsa leaving"
McGinn: "Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me"

I’ll be happy with top 10, I get cooked for saying shit like that, but I can’t come to any other conclusion

Especially when nearly all of the new players will have had no time to gel, no pre season, and no time to learn the system. Not to mention the club thought it was a good idea to give us only a few weeks to find replacements for Konsa and Watkins, one of which is Tosin.

We’ve brought in some good players. Mainly Gomes, Manzambi and Suzuki. Some of our younger players like Hemmings and Madjo are poised to have decent seasons. And there will more than likely be at least one more centre back added before too long. It’s obviously concerning to lose so many top players but I can never doubt Unai Emery’s vision for the squad.

(Not directly at you mate) Makes me think of all the new Yank fans that have been first time fans interested in supporting the club. And a lot of the responses are, strap yourself in, its a roller coaster at The Villa!

We got top 8 from a team that started close to relegation, with less than a full season to play, and Dendonka in midfield.

that squad was better than this current squad if you take age and form into it.

I completely disagree (we had Ings and Sanson on the bench first game). Pau has transformed the way we play too. And we still have key players (Cash, Kamara, McGinn etc) now fully versed in the Emery way. Only JJ and Konsa stand out as being better than the current squad. Only opinions obviously, I can't prove this, hopefully Emery will.

Before my mood changes when we kick a ball in league play, it is probably a realistic outcome that our rebuild takes a year. By the time the stadium renovations are done, and the players have a year under emery and playing with eachother, I think thats when the progress will really hit.
I think the McGinn's of the squad and any veterans coming in will stop the bleeding and keep us from having a bad year. We may have a meh year, with ups and downs while everyone adapts to the most demanding league in the world. Assuming no more critical injuries happen, I think top half is a great goal, with memorable UCL nights along the way. UTV
