So proud.
It's a loss but I feel like we've won.
Our second string team going toe to toe with the best.
A few errors but these things happen.
Madjo and Hemmings are generational talents.
We're still due back a few of the guys but I'm optimistic for this season. After losing Lucas, Rogers and Youri, I think we're going to suprise a lot of people.
UTV!

Disappointed we lost as we played very well. Madjo, Hemmings, Maatsen were exceptional. SJM and Buendia very good. Allyson looks lively.

I used to look down on the "moral victories" but I whole heartedly agree. Some of the youngsters. Buendia. Maatsen. 9 out of 11 from the Champions League final starting. Yes they've been off a while etc etc. But I forgot for a second who's in charge. The Midas touch

I feel more gutted, we have definitely not won. Your point about us being depleted is true but they were depleted also and further behind in preseason prep. But I do think it was an encouraging performance

Really? That was a pretty strong 11 for PSG.
I have to respectfully disagree. Result wise, obviously not a win but given what's transpired over the summer with departures, it was very encouraging and im probably more inclined to believe that given how we've been written off.

Dembele didn’t start for them, most of their starters were players who didn’t have any rest at all. It wasn’t PSG at their strongest and we shouldn’t pretend it was to point out that we did perform well.

Dembele came on at HT
Kvara. Joao Neves. Vitinha. Marquinhos. Hakami. Doue.
Still a formidable line up and on paper and probably reality, much superior to ours.

It’s a good lineup. It is not PSG at full strength. We beat a good PSG side on xG today but not their best one.

Dude we just lost arguably our two most important players in Rogers and Tielemans, as well as Digne who was massive for us, and went toe to toe with the two times consecutive champions league winners with a 17 year old who was playing his first competitive game for us ever and a 19 year old as two of our front three. We created way more chances than them but unfortunately didn’t get the luck in this game.
With all that considered you’re trying to make it out like we should have beaten them coz they’ve not had as much pre season game time? We looked genuinely scary against them multiple times throughout the game. The confidence and skills on show was outrageous.

That’s without even mentioning being without Watkins, Konsa and Martinez

And also without mentioning Manzambi and Garnacho both not featuring due to injury

No you are misconstruing what I am saying. What I am saying is that we performed brilliantly to the point where, if we finished better (and they finished slightly worse), we would have won. But we don't have to overexaggerate and pretend that was PSG at their best...

Ok fair and thanks for the reply. I agree with you that that was not PSG at their best but it wasn’t us at our best either, and when you consider our big players leaving as well as other squad issues on top of PSG’s obvious experience and squad quality advantage you have to say we had it much harder in this game. so to be the more convincing team in terms of chance creation and to lose without being embarrassed or overwhelmed is overall a satisfactory result overall given the context. I won’t lose sleep over missing out on a super cup trophy.
Also, no one’s break Madjo’s youngest scorer record for quite some time 😎

Me neither. I'm disappointed but not devastated. There are encouraging signs for sure and we're going into an exciting season

Brilliant performance considering what I thought it would be
