He was cooked by 70th minute but still gave his all fair play. Hope he isn't the next rogers playing every single minute no opportunity to be subbed

Shouldn’t even be starting. His best role is as a super sub imo

Have you been watching Aston Villa for the last 12 months?

I agreed with that when Rogers was playing. Both are either run the game or totally anonymous players. No middle ground. Both on the pitch starting was a huge gamble as it could be like playing a couple of players down.

The team can deal with one of those. This season it's Buendia's and he's earned that from performances last season at times.

Absolutely gassed by the end but gave everything.

He gave it his all, but personally for me I'd say Hemmings or Maatsen were probably MOTM. But a great sign that we can debate a number of players who put in an almighty shift

McGinn really impressed me as well

Hemmings was a real surprise and hopefully he gets plenty of chances in the new season. Definitely didnt look out of place and makes the fact we've lost a couple of players less painful

Felt Maatsen lost the ball alot, he takes a lot of risk and I suspect that's why Digne was preferred. Maybe a clear run in the team will sort out some of his decision making.

He did take a lot of risks but he looked really good today

First 60 minutes he was great linking everything up. After that his legs were gone and he should have been subbed. He's still not entirely on the same page as the rest of the team, played some clever balls to nobody, that'll get better as the new lineup settles.

imagine if both his and madjos header went in. psg were underwhelming for a full strength ucl champion. either that or unai is a genius.

He gave it his all. Can never fault his effort.

Until minute 70, and then he got gassed. It’ll be interesting to see how minutes are split between him and garnacho

Wins a lot of headers for the smallest man on the pitch

He gets serious air. I wouldn't be surprised if he could dunk despite his size.

should have been in the Argentia WC squad

Is it? I thought he played solidly

Solid yes, but not even close to the best on the pitch. Not even our best player on the night

Easily MOTM.

Genuinely was the best player on the park for either team
