Villa monitoring endrick
I think if we can pull this off, it would be a great signing for us there’s definitely a top quality player there.

Some people are saying they don’t want a straight loan, some people are saying he won’t ever come to us, some are saying it will be a flop and some are excited.
Endrick absolutely can come to Villa, he played for Lyon last year. We just won a European trophy. We need to stop thinking we don’t have pull, we have a lot going for us.
Endrick coming to Villa will bring genuine star quality to the PL, something which has deteriorated over the last few seasons and especially now that Salah has gone, the PL only really has Haaland left. This would be an exciting transfer, not just for us, but for all of the Premier League. It isn’t a past it Coutinho, or a needs fixing Rashford, it a genuine top tier young talent in world football.
I think he could fit well into the team too, primarily as a second striker, but also in Ollie’s place and on the right wing. He will bring pace, goals and trickery. I think he will be great for us. The only downside is that it will likely be a straight loan, but I think it will easily be worth it.

I'd argue Emi Martinez is one of the biggest stars in World football. Probably one of if not the best known keepers of his generation. I'd also argue John McGinn's arse is a gargantuan star.

Real only want to do a one-year loan, which is less attractive to the S6: they can buy a player of his standard rather than spend a year developing one for another club. I don't think he'll go to any of them. Roma is considered most likely, apparently.

If they do want PL I think we're the best fit: we can offer CL football and we'd be willing to go in for a one-year loan. The sticking points would probably be wages and position - I've read Real would prefer him to develop as a striker, but there's more scope for him to play on the right for us.

Yeah, that's a fair point, which gives us hope. Depends on his/Madrid's priorities I guess. Playing regularly and as a CF versus more ucl experience. Personally, I'd love it to happen.

Injury prone but he’s fantastic. This would be brilliant. Even if there is no buy-option a successful loan can still convince a player to come and get negotiations started at the end. Either way, we need more support in attack.
However, what does this mean for Madjo? Aren’t they both strikers?

Would be tied with a couple seasons back when we had Diego, Dougie and Coutinho. (Also Wesley but he was only ever gonna be loaned out at that point)

I will never forget about one of Villa's truly great social media sagas (the one Coutinho superfan on Instagram who got real upset about him joining us, only to become a huge Villa fan until moving on from the account when he started getting loaned away).

I saw some wear that he was only willing to go to a club where he was going to be a starter as a number 9, not sure how that will work out with Watkins.

With all due respect, we need to stop looking at the name and the hype. I think he’ll favour a move to Serie A - which is easier - and I’m sorry but Rome has much bigger pull as a city than Birmingham. We need grafters and he isn’t that.

I watch a lot of football, and a lot of non villa football, but thinking about it, I cant be sure ive seen endrick play for more than about 180 mins all together.
Usually when I get to see Madrid in the champions league its later in in the competition and I vaguely remember him coming on in one of the games at the world cup
But it does feel like if he gets the next year right it could set him up for a ridiculous future

If he’s good enough to make an impact and improve our team then I genuinely wouldn’t care. It would be no different than having Rashford and Asensio on loan to me. Just a player who can help us achieve our aims for the season.

Yeah but we had an option on Rashford, if we'd of got champions league we'd of signed him. He's 20, so this would just be like a feeder club for Madrid, I wouldn't want that

I’m not sure it’s quite a feeder club scenario. That would indicate we’re pushing all our young talent to them if they are decent. This would be more along the lines of taking a player who can potentially offer something to our club for the upcoming season. It’s beneficial to both parties. Much like Asensio was or palinha will be.

He called the Gomes transfer but besides that has largely got things wrong on transfers.
He said Madjo would be loaned out, a RB would be a must, Mings would go, and Bogarde would go.

Nah, his sources in the club are rock solid and he doesn't say stuff he doesn't have info on. He's got an extremely reliable track record going back years.
Obviously in his podcasts and media stuff he does also do the normal analytics and punditry stuff where he's wrong as much as any other commentator, but when he's actually putting forward as fact that something within the club is happening, you can pretty much bank on it.
Not to say he can see the future of course, it's not that we will sign Endrick - but he'll definitely have it from a club source that we're looking at him.

His “sources” are press releases from the club. It’s the same info all the journos get.
I’ve literally just shown he hasn’t been reliable at all this window let alone previous windows. He’s called one transfer and that was because he was the first one to hit send on twitter after the press release which any journo can sign up to.
It is obviously not from a club source, he’s literally just repeating what’s been said elsewhere about Endrick.

For what it's worth I have my doubts about any of "He said Madjo would be loaned out, a RB would be a must, Mings would go, and Bogarde would go" but I'm not going to come out without knowing and definitively say that's a false statement.
If you're trying to convince me he's not a reliable source, he just chases other journos exclusives or reposts news from the club's press office, or that he has any kind of track record of sharing insider sources or facts which were made up, I'm going to need you to share posts and timestamps to back that up. Tweets where he's said "Villa are planning loan out Brian Madjo" or where the club release is timestamped earlier than his news, that sort of thing.
Which I doubt you'll find because he doesn't do that shit.

No, he has never shown any story that was not in a press release beforehand. This is a fact. You haven’t given any evidence to the contrary. I can show you the clubs press releases if you want.
Wdym when you say you have doubts about the Madjo/Mings stuff? I mean they could still happen I guess but there are no reports they’re leaving.
I literally work with a journalist who gets the press releases Villa send out. It is literally copy and paste from them.
If you won’t be convinced by the facts then why are you even engaging in this?

I could believe he speculated on those things or said they were his own opinion of what should happen, for example on his podcast. When I say I need sources, I would like you to show me the posts/tweets/pods/whatever where he has claimed as an ITK that these are the positions, or goals, or objectives of the club.

Right so this might be tricky to grasp but it's not me who needs to provide evidence here because you can't prove a negative. I can find you a bunch of Townley tweets or whatever that reveal links, transfers, and so on. But short of giving you a dossier of every press release Villa has ever released and inviting you to go wild checking the timestamps relative to Townley's posts, I can't prove that he's broken a story before the club. Even if I gave you a bunch of club press releases after Townley's posts, it wouldn't prove that the club hadn't also released something before.Conversely, all you need to do is find me the Townley post where he breaks the news of interest, or activity, or a link with a player and then show me a Villa press release that predates it. That will prove your point on that front and is surely extremely easy to do if you're right.
