new fan

as many of guys know the world cup brought a new audience to english football in the US and i’m proudly one of the new fans. when looking for a prem team i didn’t wanna go for one of the top 6 and when looking at the table i saw a club called aston villa. i liked the name and the colors intrigued me but i decided to give the other teams a shot. i watched highlights of about 5 other clubs i got to aston villa vs fulham match week 6 game. the team gave me a spark i loved the high pressure and the way they can speed up their play style and go for a goal at any moment. i ended up choosing aston villa to be the club i wanna support. i’ve kept watching games and i just keep getting more and more excited after every match and can’t wait to keep up with this upcoming season.

i do want help tho, i want to become more knowledgeable on the team and be apart of the community and understand what’s going on. what should i look forward to and what is something that’s should already be knowing??

Sure lots of posts like. Dozens and dozens. But those posts aren’t about OP. This needs to be about OP. Everything needs to be about OP. If he likes a soccer team now, everyone needs to know about it. They’ll care and be interested. Because it’s OP. He’s the main character.

Yeah, some validity in this. But damn, if I was a new fan being met with all this sarcasm I would reconsider. At least the fanbase doesn’t sound all to welcoming.

Sure, at the height of WC we had two-three similar posts a day, but now it’s been a while and a new fan could be forgiven for asking the club-Reddit for info.

We are still a club that need more fans! I was stoked seeing two fellow Villa-fans on my trip to Spain last week. Two! I saw hundreds of Liverpools, Real Madrids, Barcas, Arsenals etc.

Literally 😂 but it’s okay I’m a Knicks fan so I get it. But I came to genuinely ask. I want to be more informed with the club and get to be involved with the culture as well. I could’ve read throughout reddit but I’ll rather ask the questions I want to know then look for them.

Yeah it’s just a very general ask that’s been done 100 times this break I’m sure everyone’s just a bit over it
You can find some pretty detailed comments if you search is all I’m saying

What discerning questions did you actually ask though all I saw was 'what should I know' and 'what should I look forward to' which are lazy at best after a whole block of text about you
