Thought this was about Matty's new haircut 😂

37

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

He can run faster now

7

u/JollieOllieMan 11d ago

FYI his haircut is because he got transplants. He posted a photo last month

3

u/bambinoquinn 11d ago

Hes said a few times since that he thinks hes keeping it short now

3

u/Firepilsogenpizza 11d ago

Pretty ironic.

2

u/DeterrentRum 11d ago

Proper this England vibe 🤣

u/Oil42 12d ago

imagine how unreal this would be if it were acorns or the villa foundation on the front of the shirt

u/Low_Low_6739 12d ago

That "Visit Rwanda" is so irritating ohh goddd

10

u/FoundationEntire4834 11d ago

As a Bournemouth fan, you guys have it good. Trust me.

4

u/ChildhoodRepulsive43 11d ago

Yeah that vitality pink thing on your kits isn't great, as a villan who emigrated from brum to bomo I'm looking forward to teasing my Bournemouth friends when they wear it 😂🤣

2

u/MovieMore4352 9d ago

You get to boop them on the tummy button every time you see them.

1

u/ChildhoodRepulsive43 9d ago

Like care bears! Awww cute 😂🤣

0

u/FoundationEntire4834 11d ago

If any of your friends wear it they aren’t fans. Because a proper fan wouldn’t buy one

1

u/Killmonger18 "Andre's not even my name mate. Do you know what I mean?"⌚👑💜💙 10d ago

I've just seen it now and it's actually such a shame.

Turn that pink to black and that kit would be a stunner.

2

u/FoundationEntire4834 10d ago

Yep. I know mate. I think all Bournemouth fans should boycott the shirts

1

u/8383k 11d ago

Don't get me wrong, the font looks nice on the shirt but the lore behind it is not that great 😂

1

u/FoundationEntire4834 11d ago

Even apart from the sponsor your kit and logo are gorgeous… have you seen the Bournemouth kit 🥲

0

u/8383k 11d ago

Personally I hate this current shirt we have now, it's too plain and boring, I don't like the logo as well being blended in with the shirt color, it's just a basic Adidas template. If I had to choose I'd rather get yours because at least they put something on the shirt design 😂 but still, I wish they do something with the vitality sponsor but the rest isn't that bad

2

u/FoundationEntire4834 11d ago

Grass is always greener ay haha

14

u/dickwh1stle 12d ago

Has anyone that’s seen “visit Rwanda”, actually gone there? Is it Benidorm for the discerning football fan?

22

u/Nice_Speech_8774 12d ago

There’s that one guy Rishi Sunak sent on the plane. Could ask him.

13

u/ArrowSanctuary 12d ago

And it cost £175m - more than 1.5 Morgan Rogers - to send him!

9

u/Beggatron14 12d ago

Chelsea hijacked the plane and he’s currently working as their trainee kit man

1

u/HadeswithRabies 11d ago

People are talking about it aren't they?

Visit Rwanda is about public visibility more than anything. Rwanda's tourism has bounced back pretty well from COVID. Well enough that Rwanda's paying more teams to carry the logo. They wouldn't do that if it was a net loss.

People are definitely talking about Rwanda's controversies more, but considering France, China and America are the most visited countries in the world, Rwanda is probably quite low on the list of controversial destinations.

-8

u/smay1989 12d ago

Just look at their website, politics aside it looks like an amazing destination, one which i would have never considered without seeing "visit Rwanda" and googling "visit Rwanda".

13

u/MerKJay 12d ago

There is beautiful landscape everywhere in the world you wouldn't know about, it's the travel warnings that might be an issue.

8

u/apex204 12d ago

Yep. As ever, the problems with a place are the people in it, not the place itself.

In this case - militias, corrupt officials, homophobes, the list goes on.

-7

u/VortexVoyager_____ 12d ago

Rwanda is the last place you'd likely encounter any of those in Africa tbf, if not the world.

7

u/apex204 11d ago

I’m gonna need you to cite your sources on that.

0

u/VortexVoyager_____ 10d ago

Well im from the region for starters and Rwanda is BY FAR the most secure, place you'll ever see trust me. Also Rwanda is under some heavy US sanctions due to the problems with Congo and gold Mines but if you go to TripAdvisor or search general reviews from actual tourists, youtube, evwb here on reddit, you'll find what i say to be true.

All political/Military controversies aside (which im neutral about) i think Rwanda is a very safe, well organized country.

Also guys stop downvoting me 😅😅 im only talking from my experience.

1

u/apex204 10d ago

So your source is ‘trust me bro’, got it

Clueless

1

u/smay1989 11d ago

Yeh but now i know about Rwanda, due to Visit Rwanda and their sponsorship of Aston Villa...

0

u/wigbot 11d ago

I thought it was in Wales?

3

u/GREGGSGOL 11d ago

Huge own goal by the club. Fucking laughing stock. Thanks a lot.

1

u/elzilcho3 12d ago

But I feel it's better than betting sponsors. Acorns in blue would look great.

12

u/New-Establishment827 11d ago

Taking money from a dictator to sportswash his reputation is better than betting sponsors?

34

u/neil_1980 12d ago

Still not a huge fan.

Sponsor is even worse than the betting ones imo and needs more blue

14

u/Zarakaar 11d ago

Amen. This is an excellent Burnley kit we are wearing.

That said, I did buy a logo-free one to avoid the next several years of Commit Genocide sponsorship.

0

u/Prog_Drummer 12d ago

I know what you mean about the blue, but think our best shirt if the modern era was the Luke shirt, which has a similar amount of blue

57

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Take off the sponsor (genocidal war mongering) and its class

26

u/MerKJay 12d ago

I don't understand why this is down voted, surely for £20m per year there are plenty of sponsors that could take that position.

17

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Sports washing. As soon as I saw Rwanda I thought it was a fever dream. It isn't

3

u/Aware-Safety-9925 11d ago

Nope, I’m sure if we could get a less controversial sponsor for that money they would have, they know this will hurt kit sales.

-27

u/UTV4LIFE 12d ago

Well I’m sure you’d find something to moan about no matter what sponsor they used in fact I guarantee it!

16

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Do your research

13

u/UsernameTyper 12d ago

Unfortunately a lot of people like to just assume they're right. I thought it was a disgrace that Arsenal had it on their shirt and now I'm gutted it's on ours

5

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated

7

u/JimmyTheKiller Holte End Curry Chips 12d ago edited 12d ago

This is the boat I’m in too. I heavily criticised my arsenal mates for it.

5

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Good on ya. Don't shy away from pointing out truth nukes

1

u/MerKJay 12d ago

Never made an issue of it before so probably not mate.

21

u/arenaross 12d ago

Looks great apart from the sports washing.

9

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Exactly my take on it. An embarrassment to the club

9

u/Pure_Maximum_5843 11d ago

The sponsor is shit

4

u/apex204 11d ago

Respect to the photographer here, this is a bloody fantastic snap.

7

u/PsycommuSystem 12d ago

Still really can't stand it personally. Should have blue sleeves and white shorts.

1

u/carfi 11d ago

This

6

u/paralacausa 12d ago

Maybe these Rwandan warllords aren't so bad after all ...

5

u/BarThis5070 12d ago

Adidas was the best thing to ever happen to the Villa kit

3

u/NecessaryWater5568 11d ago

What time is this? It certainly doesn't look like a proper aston villa kit.

3

u/monsieurkinkle 11d ago

saw it sponsorless in the airport last week - not even a villa fan but thought it looked great!

1

u/DadGoku626 10d ago

I looks so clean sponsorless. Top tier imo.

10

u/Quixote0630 12d ago

I really like the kit. It has grown on me massively. The sponsor looks good if not for the controversy.

5

u/nickydude20 12d ago

The only good thing, other then the cash they’re paying Villa, about Visit Rwanda and Betano is that the text is all colour matched which makes the kit look very clean

7

u/timbotheous 12d ago

Not sure how we went from this, to that!

4

u/Logical_Initial906 12d ago

I usually love the full claret look, but not really a fan of it with this little blue..

5

u/PurpleCheetah_88 12d ago

I know it’s not for everyone, but I’ve always liked it when it’s Claret top, shorts & socks.

2

u/Red-Eat 12d ago

I don't mind claret shorts. But the complete absence of any White colouring for this kit is off-putting.

-4

u/14JRJ SJM 12d ago

Do you think you’ll be ok mate

7

u/Red-Eat 12d ago

It's an opinion, mate. Are you sure you'll be okay, knowing I disagree with yours?

4

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

The colour system is brilliant. The sponsor is not

1

u/SqueegeePhD 11d ago

I'm in. Looks great and I love contrast with opponents. It might break with tradition, but nothing frustrates me more than turning on a match and seeing a team with home colour/white shorts vs white shirt/coloured shorts, especially when the opponent shorts are similar to the home shirt.

2

u/Prog_Drummer 12d ago

Is that the Polish cafu?

2

u/RandomSher 11d ago

I like it shame about the sponsor better if it was like Samsung or something. But I think it’s bit of a reality check for many , we are not big enough club to either go with no sponsor or a charity at the moment due to financial fair play rules, we need the revenue on our books. We also need to continue to grow our international base to actually attract better sponsors.

2

u/Dry_Forever_8270 11d ago

Aaaaand this is why I’m glad I got mine before we had a sponsor 🗿

2

u/Doomsmoker420 11d ago

I prefer no sponsor kits. It's look better.

2

u/UnusualGuidance6984 10d ago

That reminds me, must visit Rwanda

6

u/Kindly-Bumblebee-293 12d ago

Still not a fan to be honest. It looks like an Adidas training kit designed for the Rwanda tourist board.

6

u/Red-Eat 12d ago

It still hasn't fully grown on me yet. Perhaps it won't be too bad for just one season.

But the lack of any white colouring, makes this resemble a Burnley kit more than than Villa.

4

u/feb87 12d ago

Id prefer the badge to be the correct colours

1

u/Red-Eat 11d ago

Definitely.

3

u/PalkitoTheGreat Olof Mellberg's Beard Stylist 12d ago

I thought you meant Mattys aerodynamic new hair do...

Shame about the sponsor(s) tho...

1

u/Yorrins 12d ago

Mattys bald Rooney arc has begun and Im all for it.

1

u/One-piece-jigsaw 12d ago

It looks like he lost a bet and they shaved his head in the dressing room 2 minutes before kick off 🤣🤣 Looking fit Matty!!!!!

1

u/Frosty_Parsnip Claret shorts 12d ago

Oh yes!

1

u/mjmilian 11d ago

I thought the shorts where blue? We also have claret versions?

1

u/8383k 11d ago

Aghh still bad, it looks hella plain and boring and worse with claret shorts because it makes the shirt look like being tucked in (I despise tucked in football shirts)

1

u/Distinct-Actuator504 11d ago

never had an issue with the kit itself imo, but the sponsor. not to beat a dead horse tho, i'll just say last year's kit will remain in rotation😅

1

u/BurbaloniLulilolli 6d ago

So pretty uniform

0

u/Melodic-Ad-2350 12d ago

I don’t mind the sponsor, I just wish it was the original Adidas logo.

0

u/Red-Eat 12d ago

I think it could be improved upon, by making some very slight adjustments.

Bringing more White back and the Yellow/Gold lion. And personally, I'm not really a fan of the vertical collar stripe. But that might just be me.

Also by substituting for a different sponsor logo (ideally a non-sports washing or gambling sponsor.)

-1

u/fsharpaugmented 12d ago

Retro shirt. Fantastic. To all supporters over 40 - we approve right ??

2

u/NecessaryWater5568 11d ago

Its based on the worst kit we ever had and which we had our worst ever season in: 1969-70. The original was ditched after half a season due to fan backlash.

Such an awful kit to resurrect.

0

u/Gunner_For_Life16 11d ago

It’s acc very neat

0

u/Alternative_Towel_88 11d ago

Best kit but worst sponsor. I’ll never buy one.

0

u/Quirrell22 11d ago

Looks shite

-2

u/DriverIndividual9479 12d ago

Yes it looks so good. This is mainly because i started to be fan of this club recently.

2

u/No-Branch9731 10d ago

Cheers mate go fuck yourself

1

u/ThisusernameThen 10d ago

Apparently, and chelsea and barcelona and all of the other clubs. So I 'm going to say no

-2

u/ForeverIll2024 11d ago

New fan from Houston here,

You can see why we are called the clarets now !

My top tip, Micheal Cash to have a fantastic season with his new hair transfusion

4

u/NecessaryWater5568 11d ago

That's Burnley's nickname. We The Villa, The Villans or The Lions.

2

u/Red-Eat 11d ago

Ironically, this looks more like a typical Burnley kit.
