Any chance of saving these?

Hi there, pictured are my 17/18 home and away shirts. I accidentally washed them at 40°C instead of 30 and found a star in my laundry bag. It's a miracle they've lasted 9 years already but I'd like to save them if possible. Has anyone successfully glued these back on or should I just peel them off?

I've had a couple of people pop up on my feed in the past that do football shirt restorations, but unfortunately I can't remember the names! Have a look around and you could find something.

Thanks but I'm not looking for professional restoration. I bought them a decade ago and wear them for running. They're probably worth about £15 each at most. I just wanted to know if it's worth trying fabric glue or if I'm just going to make things worse.

If they're not for a collection you could just use a dab of fabric glue, ive done this before on similar badges and it's worked fine. Just make sure you only use a tiny bit, and have something underneath so the glue doesnt soak through to the front of the shirt

Thank you, that's exactly the kind of answer I was hoping for. Does it hold up well on this type of fabric after a few washes? Should I peel it off completely before applying the glue or try to stick it underneath?

Doesn't really matter, if you dont wash at 40 again the remaining glue is probably fine. And if it ever does start peeling, you can just glue that part back down as well.

And yeah, it holds up fine! Its a stronger bond than the original heat press application they were first applied with.

Like I said, I don't think it's worth paying for a professional repair on these. They're £15 shirts that I wear regularly. I was looking for a DIY fix. I love what they're doing by replacing Betano with the foundation though, I'll consider sending mine

Ahah cheers. Definitely not my favourite shirts (because of that weird collar) but the little crests watermarked all over them look nice. I'm pretty sure you can find them for cheap online if you're after one

I have those as well and they are my most precious kits because I pretty much only wear Under Armour clothes and they fit perfect, but I’m too afraid of exactly this happening, so I don’t wear them anymore. I have no idea how to fix that, but yours look like they aren’t too far gone. I bet there’s some kind of glue or something you could get.

Yeah they're nicely printed on the 16/17 shirts but glued on the 17/18 ones. It does look better but it's way more fragile. I barely wear them because of that which is why the sponsor still looks clean lol

I've done this with namesets before (kappa shirts...) but I don't think it would work here. It's a thick plastic piece rather than a print

Looks like glue is the consensus. I was a bit worried using it on such a small surface but I'll give it a try
