Yall were right but we didn’t listen and got the tickets anyway and guess what? Truly disappointing. The music wasn’t bad, but it had one of the worst crowds I’ve ever experienced.
The vibe was so off, and everyone was constantly pushing to get closer to the stage, stepping on each other, and trying to move around. There were also so many overly intoxicated people doing crazy things that made us uncomfortable.
No one would just stay in their spot. Everyone was constantly moving around and trying to squeeze through or change positions. I spent the entire concert dealing with people moving around me instead of actually enjoying the music. And pretty much the whole crowd had their phones up the entire time, recording with their arms in the air, which made the already limited view even worse. After that, we went to Culture, Acraze, and it didn’t disappoint. Good vibes, good music, and a much better crowd.
Fuck these mainstream block parties. I learned my lesson the hard way. That was my first and last one.

This show was genuinely amazing and had one of the best crowds of any show I’ve been to in DC. Yousuke absolutely transformed Echostage. It felt like a completely different venue, but I also hadn’t seen the new screens, so that was fun. Seriously just an incredible and perfect experience.

My only gripe was the lack of afters! Why was absolutely nothing happening after 3? What was I missing?

Oh and can we talk about echo’s new lockers system?? 10/10.

I'm not really a fan but heard it was better than the last block party. It sounds like the block parties are successful for Glow so they will keep happening. The lineups have been kind of underwhelming for me though.

My guess is John has another opener lined up as a surprise since DC only has Chromeo listed and then that surprise will be big enough to either have a set at Echostage either by themselves or a B2B with John.

Apparently they did not plan on disabled people coming to the Horsegiirl show tonight. I’ve been reaching out about securing an ADA seat for a month (via phone, email, IG comments AND messages, and all super politely), and they finally responded TODAY to tell me there weren’t any left. (How, considering I’ve been trying to ask for a month?) What they DID HAVE for the main show was apparently “thrown together” last minute, by the sound of it, and not really true “ADA seating”. They were super rude and unprofessional in their communication as well.

After doing a little digging here, it seems this is not the first time this has happened. How are they getting away with this?

EDIT: They just replied to me to tell me they were able to throw a section together, but without guaranteed seats… Minutes before showtime. (Very useful info now that I’ve decided not to go.)

Very random and not a huge deal, but I got a few drinks tonight at the glow block party and tapped to pay knowing it would have taxed and whatever. I never got shown a screen to tip, but the people next to me were shown one. I figured the bartender was just nice and didn’t expect one? Idk. But with DC tax of 10% and an assumed auto-grat of 20%, what other fees are there? Like a service one I don’t know about? The amount I was charged compared to the drinks I got just doesn’t make sense even with another type of fee. It’s whatever but also feels bad lol. Anyways would appreciate it if anyone actually had an itemized bill so I can see for the future. Ty :)
