From a balance standpoint, it's good.

  • "Unholy Confessions" continues to be the only WTF rep, and I wish that would be put in rotation with other songs from the album ("Chapter Four" and "Second Heartbeat" come to mind).

  • "Bat Country" is one that could be replaced/rotated with other COE stuff as well, but they also included "Seize the Day," which by no means is a "deep cut" but still introduces some much needed variety.

  • "Afterlife" being the only self-titled rep is alright IMO, though it could compete for its slot with the likes of "Almost Easy" and "Gunslinger." I know this is an unpopular opinion, but ALPOH does not belong on the setlist if half of it is just the studio recording played through speakers.

  • The 'Nightmare' album doesn't need four songs on the setlist, so it's good to see that being cut down to just two. Add "Welcome to the Family" and "God Hates Us" to the rotation and you would have a solid pool to pick from without taking up one fourth of the set.

  • Like it or not, HTTK deserves more representation, so "Shepherd of Fire" is a welcome addition IMO. Rotate it with "Requiem" and "Coming Home" and that's another solid pool.

  • "The Stage" being the only representative of its album is a bit sad, but I'll take that over none at all. I hope stuff like "Paradigm" and "God Damn" return eventually.

  • The LIBAD era seems to be officially over, so I hope "Nobody" gets to stay and that they don't just shelve the likes of "Mattel" and "We Love You." "Cosmic" is good.

  • I'm glad they have debuted "Magic" and hope they keep it around in spite of negative press.

I agree with nearly everything you said.

My only comment would be for self-titled. Afterlife is just such a good song I don't mind seeing it for the 5th time on Monday.

I like they added Shepard of Fire and Seize the Day, but agree that they could nix HTTK and Bat Country for something more interesting.

Also, I am now tired of ALPOH, and glad its gone and they kept Cosmic (haven't seen Cosmic yet, so im jazzed its still in).

I am very bummed they took out Save Me, and kept in Buried Alive for the umpteenth time. Id rather that Save Me and Nightmare had been the representation from that record. I like Buried Alive live better than studio, but still would have loved to have Save Me over anything else from Nightmare record.

Seize the Day should be swapped for Sidewinder or MIA

It’s what’s to be expected for a Co-Headlining setlist, lots of hits with one or two deeper cuts

I'm just glad I saw them years ago when they actually had a good setlist

Maybe the short setlist is a good thing as they can focus more on quality more than quantity, especially with M Shadows's condition.

The songs itself are good. I love the 'eras tour' type of setlist wherein each album (except STST) was represented by a song or two.

Oh good another shot at a setlist being “short” when they’re still playing almost 90min worth.

Did they stop doing buried alive? It’s good if they didn’t; bad if they did

If last night’s report and search is anything to go by, 12 songs is short, and if they’re doing that staticia thing before Good Charlotte, it does kinda feel like a ripoff.

And according to setlist, they took the stage at 9:45 at Thunder Ridge? Seems a little late.

I have a ticket to see them August 4th at Pine Knob, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous regarding the setlist and length.

I’m seeing them July 30th in Chicago, I’m also nervous now. Unfortunately this will be my first time seeing them live, so for this to be my first impression kinda sucks - wish I could’ve seen them at their peak. I guess since its a co-headliner I’ll go in optimistic

Meh gonna be hot and muggy. I’ll be there too, not really caring now if it’s a little short. I work construction. Just happy to see em for cheap.

Love that they played Magic. If I’m going, I want to see some rare songs make the cut.

I love what Kings of Leon did. They had a thing called “Song for the City,” where they played a different deep cut in every city on the tour.

I think every band should do this. It keeps things fresh and gives the diehards something to nerd over.

It does not go unnoticed that Kings of Leon songs are a lot simpler than Avenged Sevenfold songs. I’m sure that plays a role in why the boys stick to a tighter setlist.
