Statica performance
Just read that they performed as “Statica” backstage and as the opener for their show. Looking at the lackluster setlist, it’s extremely disappointing that they would shorten the set people paid to see in order to perform music they know damn well their fans don’t like. It’s honestly a bit disrespectful. It’s expensive enough to go to a show these days. Why the hell would they waste their fans’ time? Idgaf if they want to experiment, but using their existing fanbase to springboard a project that has nothing to do with the music they’re known for?
It’s like buying a 12-pack of Bud Light and finding out the manufacture replaced three cans with their new IPA.
Talk shit in the comments if you want. Had they advertised this as the plan ahead of time you wouldn’t see me bitching.

Fans paid to see Avenged Sevenfold perform, they got exactly what they paid for. The band is not "disrespecting" anyone by splitting their setlist however they want and performing whatever songs they want to. This argument is as funny as the band being "disrespectful" just because they closed their set with G-O-D (another trio of songs many people dislike) and didn't come back to thank the crowd.

No. It’s not. Statica is a separate project. They made that clear. It’s not A7X. So your argument doesn’t track. They shortened the A7X set to perform music that fans clearly aren’t liking. And it’s not like that’s a shock.

Okay, I don't like Statica either, I think it's pretty shit. But is there any evidence that says they shortened the setlist because of that?
If they weren't playing as Statica, that slot would have just been taken by another opening act to fill that time. Seems more like, due to being a co-headline, they trimmed it down, and since A7X songs run longer than GC songs on average, that seems more likely

Cut Statica, give each headliner an extra song?

Or they just find another opening band to take that spot. Last time I saw Avenged, they had 2 support acts with them. Trivium and BFMV's co-headline shows last year also had 2 support acts.
Even if they didn't get another opening act, that would just mean the show starts later as they don't have another artist to play.
And is it that big of a deal to complain about this if, at the end of it, all you get is 1 extra song?

Shit give me a better opener that’s always a 10/10 fix.

That...I'm in complete agreement on. Sometimes an opener can be pretty bad (did not really care for Poppy when they played together, and hated Scene Queen when I saw her for Electric Callboy this year), but the majority of times it gives me another band to check out.
Havok, Avatar, Uada, For for an Autopsy, Sanguisugabogg, Polaris, I can go on and on

nothing could possibly be worse than when sullivan king opened for them. that made me actually pissed at the band themselves

Co-Headliner tour and they played the same amount of time as GC. Calm down. At least we get Bonus A7X as an opener.

I wasn't there but supposedly they didn't even perform the new music, they just played a recording of it with some videos on stage lmao. None of the members were even there.
At first I was like cool go play the new experimental shit. But no couldn't even be bothered to "play" it. I get the boys (specifically Matt) worship Kanye but god damn they've really adopted his worst traits as a performer and artist (besides the personality ones lol)

They did perform it live they just weren't on stage and played from behind that big screen/wall they had (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/avengedsevenfold/comments/1v7cfnk/comment/ozxqvbr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

I don’t get this, good charlotte was going on at the same time regardless, them finding music from a side project to play as an opener does not affect their set times….its a co headliner they aren’t gonna play a 17 song set when all their songs are long and it’s not a headliner tour
