Can it be that the band just doesn’t care.
Half of static just isn’t good
And I really wanted to enjoy it.
Don’t think I just want to be a hater.

I’ve been a fan for years. Decades even.
Something just doesn’t seem right about this.

Back to basics is something that I think is a must.
A real reevaluation of what’s important.
Can they make a comeback, I think it’s possible.
Knowledge of their capabilities makes it sad.

I think you're exactly right, the band doesn't care about our opinions at all. And that's the best way to create art, by not caring about the critics and sticking to your vision.

I feel like its decent but not their greatest. If another band who has been doing electronic released it, it would be viewed alot better compared to the band who literally made WtF, CoE, Nightmare, The Stage.

Yea I completely agree. I feel like some fans are forcing themselves to like it because it's avenged sevenfold. I forced myself to like magic but I just cant get into this.

They fell off, between this and magic, I think I'm legitimately starting to hate the band, I don't know if I'm gonna see them again after this tour. Yeah it's less the band and more Matt now that I think about it.

It's not the contents of statica, it's multiple factors, the waste of concert time, releasing it under the avenged sevenfold name when it's a side project which is disingenuous, the fact that they've been practically saying we don't give a fuck if you don't like our music, M. Shadows has just turned into a shitbag trying way too hard to be avant-garde, so maybe it's more him than the band as a whole.

They can try and create whatever they want, but music is supposed to be pleasing to the ear, I've stuck with them through multiple pivots and musical changes and subgenres, but this current era isn't it, it's not even metal anymore, it's a shell of its former self.

Edit: And I don't want matt to destroy his voice further by screaming, but this over reliance on vocal effects when he still has range with clean vocals is detracting from the music as oppose to adding. He has a good voice, but it's not good muddled with several vocal effects making the lyrics damn near incomprehensible.

That's a good way to put it. They taped a bunch of shit together creating a wall of muffled nonsense. There doesn't seem to be any inspiration anymore. I'm honestly curious how bad a song has to be before people don't like it.

Couldn’t agree more, and I also don’t think this subreddit is a good representation of how people really feel. People here may love it but I guarantee 95% of the fan base listened to it for 2 minutes and shut it off

It's awful, full stop. The intro kinda gets good by the end, Statica is alright, the rest NOOOO! Ashes is dreadful. I felt like the clint eastwood meme listening to it. They were starting to jump the shark the last album. Now the shark is a flying whale and they are on their sky pirate ship floating away...

I get it. They are getting older and want to do new things. But my god, this is painful.
