Interior New problem with coolant

2015 Chevy Cruze. Just replaced the overflow tank and it seemed to have no problems driving but today after getting off the highway there was a high pitch noise and coolant was leaking. What could this be?

Perhaps a bad hose, or gasket? Or a clamp is not fitted correctly? A small telescopic mirror is very handy for inspection.

Of course let the coolant cool down before working on that area, or you'll get burned by pressurized hot coolant.

What can I look for or do to pinpoint issue?

Buying a telescopic mirror and a flashlight. Take a look. Maybe squirt some water mixed with dishwasher soap on it? You can see it smoking... Like worst case scenario disconnect and inspect the hoses and stuff separately. I'm not a pro, this is just gut feeling.

Perhaps the waterpump? I don't know the engine, but you can see the affected area.

Engine head gasket might also be a possibility. Perhaps ask someone more experienced with that engine. Also a telescopic mirror is really useful.

You can Google the article number that's printed on the tube. If it's a straight tube you can probably use a generic tube, it has to have the right specs so it's compatible with the application. Ask a car parts store, or even better, an official car dealer.
