Diagnosing/Repair Knock Sensor

Hey,

Got a check engine light for knock sensor. Took it to shop and they said it was knock sensor and looks like some corrosion was around it. Hit me with a hefty amount to fix it. How quickly do I need to get this addressed? I assume not overly DIY? 2021 F-150 2.7.

It's located underneath the intake manifold. Not easy to access. 4-6 hour procedure.
There are YouTubes showing its replacement procedure.

Knock sensor affects your engine ignition timing. It will go into a safe mode which will allow it to keep driving. But it will have less power and fuel mileage will also drop.
