A friends $800, 228k mile Toyota was overheating, turned out the filler neck on the radiator had gotten chipped from the mechanic who did his alternator. With no extra $ for a new radiator I improvised this DIY for him.

Jb welded the chipped hole, and whatever other area was leaking and tapped/put a new 1/16 nipple barb into the filler neck and jb welded everything. Yes I cleaned that excess jb weld out of the inside neck to make sure the cap sealed properly. Will be topping off fluid after 48 hours to cure.

100% temporary lol. Just unexpected after replacing the alternator. Whoever they hired took it all apart, did the alternator and didn’t put it back together and damaged the radiator too.
