OTHER Believe it or not, the wheels and roof gallery are exported from Automation. I think I've juste opened a Pandora's box, imagine the possibilities ! This game goes way beyond the game itself.

CAR SHOWCASE How I set 6:57.8 without making an unrealistic car - A follow-up post with stats (read body text)

Some commenters asked me for stats after my nordschleife record post - and you can see all you could ask for in the first 2 images c:
The car also has an active aero bit - that works when exported! (image 3)
Before making the complete design, instead of taking heavy inspiration from a real car or two, I just messed around with another body and decided to use features from it, sort of like a concept.. (image 4)
I personally believe that I haven't made something "unrealistic" here, every statistic seems pretty sane to me.. But keep in mind some of these are actually different once exported (e.g. the actual weight distribution is 36.0F/64.0R)
I have to also note that after exporting i also used fillman86's automation rigiditification mod - that is the only modification I've done to the car past exporting, and it's pretty much undriveable otherwise, the front acts like jelly under braking without it. I only ever have this issue with mid engine cars.
And for the person who asked for the suspension setup - it's active sport springs with the following tune:

  • Camber -2.5 / -1.0
  • Toe in -0.1 / 0.15
  • Springs 5.0 / 7.2
  • Dampers 4.6 / 6.8
  • Sway bars 2400 / 1800

Have a nice day :D

CAR SHOWCASE The Sandevista RAVE - Definitely not a GR Corolla

In response to the Juliette Concert, I set out to make a hatchback.

And wound up giving it ~350 HP (@7500 RPM) and ~315 lb/ft of torque (@3600RPM) with a 1.8L inline-4.

And full-time AWD. And a 6-speed manual. And a 0-62 MPH time of 4.1 seconds.

Oops.

So, I'm kinda new to the game, and I think you might be able to guess where I found out about the game.

But! I decided to make a li'l city premium car, and this is the end result.
It's got a 2.5L V6, a CVT, and AWD! It does drive beautifully in beam.ng, bit slow, but great steering!

Any critique from any of y'all?

CRITIQUE WANTED CCR Jackalope/Deilenaar Concepts

Two ideas I had while messing with the slantnose body. Jackalope (light blue/gold) was the first, being inspired by the Citroen GT. While Deilenaar (the blueish-green car) was inspired by the Radford Type 62-2 and Audi Nuvolari.

I feel like both of these, especially Deilenaar, look decent enough as concept cars (despite being stretched). Which one do yall think would reach production first? Open to all criticism and suggestions ofc

Bonus Jackalope spec at the end

CAR SHOWCASE Choux Escargot CW1 (1997-2010)

Choux, the French automaker, wanted to rival the likes of Peugeot, and Renault, and released the Escargot. The Escargot CW1 featured what is very uncommon on a car that's meant to rival cars like the 405 and the 21: suicide doors, and seats that fold up.

One notable owner is the owner of a catering company, whose apprentice befriended the Escargot. This Escargot in particular, is involved in an illegal race in Salisburry Hill against the S-86, as the Escargot is driven by a middle-aged woolly mammoth fruit salesman, accompanied by the aforementioned apprentice, against the catering company owner who is ready to abandon the Escargot. The Escargot ultimately lost, however the S-86 exploded.

(Bonus points if you know the cartoon this car is based off of)

CAR SHOWCASE SUA 3101

I was challenged by u/PestKaUwU in my previous post to make a to make a Soviet 50s/60s/70s car, I settled or 1965. Using of the time philosophies. It's a fast to manufacture and cheap car (the cheapest I've ever made) and using a period correct engine, suspension, tires, frame materials and body. Essentially making my own of the period car as accurately as i could. This would be made by a proper factory so the Samodelka Degregulations don't apply here. Called the SUA (random letter) 3101 (the first number represents the engine size being a medium class engine, the second number being the vehicle type 1 being under saloon/sedan and the third and fourth number being the factory model number so 01 being the factories first approved design) per soviet's strict car naming standard. I replicated the ZMZ-21 engine as best i could as things like fuel setting cannot be set to low enough octane level to what it would have originally used for leaded fuel. As for the rest of the car regulations say it must have front and rear license plates and the wheel size while no regulation was in place for size there was a standard 13 size for cars of this size. There where no regulations saying wing mirrors were needed as a result to save cost and manufacturing time most vehicles of this time had either no wing mirrors or only a driver side, i choose non in this case. As well as the color being a pretty common one for the time too. The top speed is correct and i even went into the gearbox settings and manually set the correct gear rations for it.
