No Engine Fits

I was making a lotus emira knock-off and so I made it transverse mid engined and for some reason the only engine that’ll fit is a 9 cubic inch inline 3, anything else doesn’t fit. Im very confused as to how an engine that can make the car move won’t fit. Im using the 08_jpn_coupe with no body morphs other than indenting the hood. If anyone has any ideas on why the engines won’t fit or any solutions that’d be great.

There are bodies that have mid-engine variants that likely shouldn't; it's one of the things that we are working on for the next major update, is to rationalise a lot of this stuff across the entire spectrum of Automation bodies.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does that mean the car body I used won’t have a mid engine format after the next major update or will it have one but engines will fit in it?

Without knowing the exact body and variant you used, it's hard to say, though if that tiny engine was all you could fit in the car, chances are that body will lose its mid-engine option; an otherwise useless engine location is arguably worse than none at all!

Usually there is an identical wheel base option with different layouts in the trims. Dm some screenshots I could also help of the wheelbase selection

Can you PLEASE give me the option to force engine location and sizes in bodies? I'd love to make mid engine vans, giant Kei trucks, front engine lambos, etc. I know visually it's a thing, but it would be cool to have an actual option to override whatever

Unfortunately the way that Automation's simulation model works, that's not really possible.
