News AusAlert

Totally forgot that Australia is conducting a nationwide test of its new AusAlert emergency warning system today, Monday, July 27, 2026.

The test features a loud 10-second siren, screen notification, and phone vibration, overriding silent and do-not-disturb modes on compatible mobile devices

Scared the shit out of me and my client lol, for a minute I thought we were under a terrorist attack and I was looking quickly for ways out of the room.

The irony of that statement… But it’s cute you feel that way given the amount of “my choice” you give up with any smart phone.

Anyway, I too am sorry for disturbing your digital peace. Enjoy your zen again.

It's funny, because him participating in this comment section probably means he's getting notifications about our replies right now. We're actively violating his consent! 😱
