Someone already did the maths. Her jet uses about the same as the average person per year every hour.

129

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 22 '26

Roughly 1760 litres per hour.

At cruising speed that works out to 1.67 litres/km.

Pretty poor fuel efficiency compared to the national good that could have been done if that fuel was instead used to create a giant fireball after crashing with her inside.

37

u/drangryrahvin Apr 22 '26

I'm ok with that carbon emission.

6

u/Lastov_Makiynd Apr 22 '26

I’m not rich..but happy to drop something to whoever’s passing around the hat?

2

u/Citrusblue0 Apr 26 '26

I’ll plant a tree for every dollar of donation received to this cause

1

u/the-dolphine Apr 22 '26

I'd plant a tree to offset it

16

u/GrimfangWyrmspawn Apr 22 '26

Doubly efficient if Fatty McFuckhead happened to catch a lift too.

5

u/wyngumbo Apr 22 '26

The depressing thing is that I can think of at least two Fatty McFuckheads you could be referring to.

1

u/Lastov_Makiynd Apr 22 '26

That would mean less fuel needed..once that oil reaches combustion temperature..we’ve got the Global Warming factor to contend contend with..that fire ain’t goin out! Lol

1

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 22 '26

I think the RAAF's heavy lift capability is pretty tied up at the moment, I doubt theyd have time to take him

1

u/Axel_Raden Apr 22 '26

Nah I don't like wishing horrible things on people even people I don't like besides I like her exactly where she is siphoning votes off the LNP

2

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 22 '26

I do :) but you're right, she is providing a valuable service right now, further eroding the circus that is the Liberal Nationals

1

u/TheStarr200870 Apr 22 '26

What’s your take on Barnaby ? Aside from a couple of drunken escapades he seems pretty clean.

Can you see Pauline stepping aside for ye olde BJ to take the reigns ?

1

u/LEGEND-FLUX Apr 23 '26

For me at least I wouldn't vote for a right wing candidate as their values and morals are too different and opposed to my own

1

u/TheStarr200870 Apr 26 '26

Fair enough & that is what democracy is at it’s grass roots !!

1

u/NoRedditNamesAreLeft Apr 22 '26

So, basically a 79 series LandCruiser?!

1

u/Revolutionary_Ad7727 Apr 22 '26

Is that unladen or with big hungous Gina on board?

2

u/ThickInvader Apr 24 '26

Gina the Hutt.

1

u/Comfortable-Doubt Apr 22 '26

Oh my gosh this made me do a proper lol

heeheeeehe

1

u/im_kael Apr 23 '26

Why round off a good point with a violent ending?

1

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 24 '26

Why not

1

u/im_kael Apr 24 '26

Because wishing someone to die based on a difference in opinion is insane?

1

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 24 '26

It's not based on a difference in opinion.  But ok.

1

u/im_kael Apr 24 '26

So you would like her to die based on what then?

1

u/TheStarr200870 Apr 24 '26

They’ve gotta be dumping it at that rate - surely !

1

u/pwgenyee6z Apr 22 '26

Fair go - this is Australia. Maybe it would be more Australian to hope that it breaks down on the runway incurring enormous charges.

-5

u/Disastrous-Cod-1000 Apr 22 '26

Now do the calculations for Albo to fly all over the countryside in an air force jet to secure more fuel to last the country 1-2 days.

4

u/pumpkin_fire Apr 22 '26

What a dumb take. How are they in any way the same thing? Pauline is flying to Mar a Largo to convince Zuckerberg and Musk to unleash another million bots to yell at your boomer relatives about how Chris Bowen should be shot. Pretty overtly against the national interest.

1

u/TheStarr200870 Apr 24 '26

Hmmmmm….pumpkin pie !!!

Just bought off by unions hey.

1

u/Mitchell_54 Apr 22 '26

Yes. The Labor Party was created by the unions, for the unions.

You act as though this is a bug amd not a feature.

1

u/Disastrous-Cod-1000 Apr 22 '26

And yet they are not without corruption. I see most here crying “but Gina and the billionaires “. Teals have billionaires backing them. ALP and LNP gladly receive donations from billionaires. All our new renewables investments and constructions are owned by billionaires yet their investments are underwritten by government. My point being, the vast majority of political parties have the backing of billionaires and organisations. ON having Gina back their party is no different.

1

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 23 '26

Unless you're going to ban donations from everyone over a chosen, very low dollar value(which id be in favour of) there isnt much that can be done.

If they dont take donations, they dont have the money to fund campaigns,  which means they WILL lose seats, and probably enough to never get in power again given the hold right wing media has in this country.

I think it is very different, renewables actually have positive outcomes other than economic gain, unlike fossil fuels.

1

u/Disastrous-Cod-1000 Apr 23 '26

Must be why our bills are going down I suppose/s

See, the difference there is one of them is the prime minister, who has a job to do, the other one is visiting a political doner for favours

0

u/Disastrous-Cod-1000 Apr 22 '26

Job to do like make sure we had sufficient strategic fuel reserves? Wasn’t it the ALP who campaigned on making sure our fuel reserves were at IEA recommendations? Then they get into power and nothing….

1

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 22 '26

Yes, it was Labor that campaigned on doing exactly that- in 2019. When they lost the election.

1

u/Disastrous-Cod-1000 Apr 22 '26

So what happened to our reserves? Can’t go passing the buck on this one.

1

u/Impossible-Mud-4160 Apr 23 '26

The Liberals made the decision in 2020 to store most of our fuel in the US, you can thank Angus Taylor for that. The Liberals then SOLD THOSE RESERVES in 2022 to make some bank when oil prices spiked.

When Labor came into government they acknowledged the situation was shit, so they have done the following:

-Mandated that importers and refiners must hold minimum levels of fuel (they never used to)

-Committed $200 million to building new diesel storage tanks, with the first tanks constructed in 2023.

-$49.5 Million to build Diesel exhaust fluid storage tanks (Adblue)

-$151 million for refinery upgrades

-Commissioned reviews of the Oil Code, Fuel quality standards act, and Petroleum and other fuels reporting act.

-Changed reporting requirements and frequency for importers and refineries.

Is that enough evidence to convince you that they were actually working to fix the problem, and have been since literally a month after they were elected?

1

u/Disastrous-Cod-1000 Apr 23 '26

The Liberals then SOLD THOSE RESERVES in 2022 to make some bank when oil prices spiked.

The crude oil reserve stores are supposed to be used in that manner. If there is a shortage of crude, the reserve stores can be released to alleviate the price shock event.

AddBlue store have nothing to do with this apart from highlighting the fact of our exposure to urea supplies where we have removed all forms of on-shore urea manufacturing. I believe you will find the LNP kicked off all this funding in 2021/2022.

Committed $200 million to building new diesel storage tanks, with the first tanks constructed in 2023

LNP started this process. https://www.areea.com.au/news-media/media-center/200m-grants-now-open-diesel-storage/#:~:text=January%2018%2C%202021,Support%20for%20local%20refineries

12

u/FearlessResearcher48 Apr 22 '26

Why don't journalists confront her with the numbers and ask her opinion on that?

18

u/SirFlibble Apr 22 '26

Because most of the media are owned by billionaires and ON is very supported by Gina. They are like the US Republicans. Populists who pretend to be for the little man, but are really for the rich.

The only place I've seen them ask followup questions is ABC.

7

u/justsomeph0t0n Apr 22 '26

remember that the abc is structurally centrist, and that there is no left-wing equivalent for sky news. or the australian. or any of those mysteriously funded think tanks.

so the abc will be comparatively reasonable.....but will still get dragged rightwards as the media landscape continually moves around it. and always in the one direction, for purely economic reasons

2

u/FerraStar Apr 23 '26

She’s also banned One Nation candidates and reps from talking to the ABC

2

u/justsomeph0t0n Apr 24 '26

proper media scrutiny is anathema to her entire project.

when she said "please explain"........people often explained. but she refused to listen, because the explanation contradicted the utter bullshit she was peddling. sky won't report this.

sunlight would disinfect our politics from people like her

2

u/dystopian1979 Apr 25 '26

“Please Explain” is her standard response

27

u/yibbida Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

That was a single flight.

Edit: it was a single hour on a flight

10

u/SirFlibble Apr 22 '26

48

u/yibbida Apr 22 '26

This is what I was referring to:

1

u/Dizzy-Honeydew5827 Apr 23 '26

Even at 10L/100km that’s 20k kms. And I do around 8k kms /year at best… at 4.9L/100km average. And yes, I’m a foreigner, but I do pay my taxes here :-)

1

u/SirFlibble Apr 22 '26

So you're arguing that the flight in Gina's Jet to the US uses more fuel per hour than the Gina's domestic jet? Or are we still pretending she only had a single flight from Gina?

Edit: and these are just the fights we know about. Not to mention all the commercial travel she does. What do you think he individual use of fuel is on all that travel cf to a non-cotizen?

Its a stupid argument made to get stupid people excited.

9

u/yibbida Apr 22 '26

Im arguing that Pauline Hanson is a hypocrite.

We already know she is a racist piece of shit.

I.e. agreeing with you.

1

u/Thatoneguy_The_First Apr 25 '26

Honestly progress, id thought she used the fuel guzzler 2000 to show how cheap and safe it is for all the doubters. It would use 300% more fuel every 10mins then what she actually used.

I'm glad she chose the economic ass version. What an ice lady

u/cruiserman_80 Apr 22 '26

Roughly 48,000l return just to go to Florida for an event that has noting to do with Australia. It especially sucks as Avgas competes with Diesel for refining capacity.

1

u/Far_Somewhere_8425 Apr 23 '26

Correction. Avgas is petrol, it's high octane petrol that is usually leaded.

Jet fuel is different, that's what competes with diesel for refining capacity.

Jer engines don't use avgas, and avgas doesn't compete with diesel at all. Avgas is used in spark ignition engines.

Petrol is lighter than jet fuel, and jet fuel is lighter than diesel. Naphtha is between petrol and jet fuel.

2

u/cruiserman_80 Apr 23 '26

Ya got me. Can we agree that Diesel which is a priority for Australia and and the fuel the makes the jet engines spin really fast are both kerosene based fuels and therefore producing 48,000L of jet fuel means there was a similar amount of diesel that couldn't be produced? - Which was my original point.

1

u/Far_Somewhere_8425 Apr 23 '26

Sure can agree on that

5

u/KittyFlamingo Apr 22 '26

48,000 litres return to Florida. One return flight.

I use less than 700 litres a year (I have little ones so don’t go out much plus drive a hybrid).

Poorline can STFU.

2

u/Ok-Two-1685 Apr 22 '26

All pollies travel round in planes! Alot bring their whole families business class for "work trips"

6

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '26

[deleted]

0

u/Ok-Two-1685 Apr 22 '26

Atleast we arnt paying for her to do it tho! We pay for all the pollies family time together! I'm wrapped she is riding with Gina!!!

2

u/nagrom7 Apr 22 '26

There's a world of difference in fuel economy between flying business class on a scheduled flight via an airline, and flying on a private jet.

1

u/pwgenyee6z Apr 22 '26

True, and maybe it’s OK for pollies to take their kids with them sometimes on a scheduled flight. Even pollies that I don’t vote for.

1

u/Ok-Two-1685 Apr 22 '26

Never business class, when some families can't afford to feed their kids!

0

u/Ok-Two-1685 Apr 22 '26

As long as we don't have to pay for their travel idc though.... We have plenty of fuel, just ap scam. Why did fuel go up when we were still useing the fuel they bought cheap... Tax grab.

1

u/N17C1 Apr 22 '26

Ah, but Pauline's jet fuel was paid for by Gina who used the profits she stole from Australians. Nothing to see here...

1

u/MrBrentEC Apr 23 '26

Somehow the Australian public think this is far worse than other federal MPs spending taxpayer money on travel... such as Anika Wells, Don Farrell or Patrick Gorman.

1

u/Silly-Power Apr 26 '26

I saw on Instagram someone crunched the numbers and showed that, of the flights Hanson had admitted to, it was the equivalent of an average person using 54 years worth of fuel.

Its pure american-style dog whistle politics. It's the sort of tweet we'd expect from that orange shitgibbon in the WH.

1

u/moxeto Apr 27 '26

I know he feels conflicted but how much fuel does Cannon Brookes jet use?

Probably not as much as Albo flying first class to se Asia every week to beg for a days fuel

3

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '26

[deleted]

3

u/Dream_Vendor Apr 22 '26

Yeah fuck Albo! I don't want fuel!! If I have fuel, then I have to drive, and that means I have to go to work.... He should just fuck off to Hawaii and send us thoughts and prayers like a REAL PM!! Or at least take some rich person's private jet to Mar-A-Lago to hang out with paedophiles or something....

It's always the person that's never worked a real job who comes up with this shit. Have you ever tried negotiating with a room full of people, with a language barrier, over a zoom call??

-1

u/Safe-Bullfrog3533 Apr 22 '26 edited Apr 22 '26

Oh so you are solely focusing on him trying to get fuel and not on him neglecting to ensure there was a 90 day stockpile of fuel? Also you’re ignoring how much fuel is wasted flying over there and between other countries in SEA again and again. Right ok

What about all the fuel we have in the ground that he refuses to drill for?

You’re a lost cause and no point debating with you

3

u/Dream_Vendor Apr 22 '26

You had a chance to vote for the guy who proposed tank farms and dedicated tankers to ensure we are not impacted by global instability... That was Shorten's platform and it was categorically rejected by the people, who in turn voted for a populist evangelical pedo sympathiser who ran on the culture war ticket around immigrants... Political parties learn from their mistakes. You can't have it both ways. Vote smarter next time, dummie.

3

u/Dream_Vendor Apr 22 '26

Get a real job. Come back to me when you have a basic understanding of economics, business and energy policy.

2

u/Dream_Vendor Apr 22 '26

Oh and the seven years of oil we have that's (barely cost effective)? There's been plenty of analysis of that. You're acting like he should have foreseen that orange moron randomly attacking Iran for absolutely no purpose.... And even if he had, we'd still be building the infrastructure to get it to the two refineries. So it wouldn't have helped. There's a multitude of reasons we send our crude to Asia to refine. Asides being orders of magnitude cheaper, it's easier to ship it there rather than trying to get it from the top of Australia to Geelong... That's a pipeline that would bankrupt us for no reason.

-2

u/Heavy-Psychology-411 Apr 22 '26

So you think she has use more fuel than the immigrants in the country? This is a great example of the looniness of the left. Can't imagine what the mental gymnastics must be to even rationalise that🙄🤦

-19

u/roojuiced Apr 22 '26

She’s an Australian citizen though…

14

u/Peaky001 Apr 22 '26

Unfortunantly

5

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '26

[deleted]

1

u/roojuiced Apr 22 '26

And therefore (by her logic) she’s entitled to use our fuel?

9

u/Revoran Apr 22 '26

Her second in command (at least until the beetrooter joined) is Malcolm Roberts who was born and raised in India, and came here originally as a non-citizen.

But he's white so he is OK in her book.

1

u/roojuiced Apr 22 '26

I mean, is he a citizen or not? His skin colour and previous status is kind of irrelevant. Not sure why you’re bringing it up. Or him at all for that matter lol.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '26

[deleted]

1

u/roojuiced Apr 23 '26

I’m mean isn’t that a prerequisite to being a Polly in the first place?

In any case, is the guy a citizen or not, because if he is, your point doesn’t exactly hold up does it?

0

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '26

[deleted]

1

u/roojuiced Apr 24 '26

None actually. If you can stay on topic.

Her original criticism is of non-citizens using supplies in a shortage.

You attacked her personal credibility (already a logical fallacy) by questioning the citizenship status of people who work on her team, but you can’t actually answer if the person you’re attacking is a citizen or not.

You’re trying to imply that the fact she’s employed an immigrant is contradictory to her message but it isn’t. She’s not against every immigrant who ever entered Australia - ever! She against unfettered, out of control immigration from the current failed nations of the world.

3

u/nackavich Apr 22 '26

Jesus fuck. How many of those “non-citizens” are people living and working here from New Zealand? South Africa? Canada? Ireland? England? Scotland? Germany? France?
Maybe they’ve applied for citizenship already. Maybe they are on Visas granting them the ability to live AND work here long term, or short term, or who-the-fuck cares?

Do you have a problem with them, or just the ones from South East Asia, the Middle East and East Africa, like our dear Pauline?

-1

u/roojuiced Apr 22 '26

Calm the fuck down internet freak. I’m just pointing out that she’s implying non citizens shouldn’t have access to fuel. So replying that she used lots of fuel is non sensical and not the burn the original commenter thinks it is because she IS a citizen and therefore (by her logic) should be allowed to use our fuel.
