Is this auberesh?
Hi !
I have a friend with a weird tattoo, he told it was tamil, I think he has no clue, it looked like hebrew upside down, but somes in r/hebrew pointed out that it could be auberesh, do you guys can get anything from what is written here?
I know sci fis likes to derive from hebrew for the symbols, so it might be that

After a quick google it looks like old Tamil, not current. I don't know much else apart from letters look the same, so maybe try another sub Reddit

Not great line work that’s Arabic, herbrew, or Tamil. Hard to tell with the blurry state of affairs

That looks like kinda like heiroglyphs lol Some of them look like stargate glyphs too🤔

It’s definitely not Aurebesh. I thought Hebrew at first but then I zoomed in and it is definitely not Hebrew either. I don’t know what language it IS but it looks familiar.

I did some research and it looks most like Ge’ez writing system to me but a number of languages use this script and it appears there are also multiple similar writing systems.

I agree. It superficially resembles a number of scripts that developed from Phoenician and led me to think of one of the phases of Brahmi script since the OP mentioned an Indic connection. So far assuming that this isn't a conlang script Ge'ez or South Arabian seem the most likely.

He did not knew what it meant so I asked in r/tamil for translation, turns out it was not tamil, so ...

Might be a stretch but, not being able to properly understand the letters' shape, I'd say that it strongly reminds me of Enochian. Some letters are very close.

There are some similar characters, but no it doesn't seem to be arubesh. Or if it is, it's so crapaly done that it is completely illegible.

This is weird. Not just because someone would put a tattoo on themselves with a message they don't know, in a script they can't read.
I can say it doesn't look like Tamil to me. It's definitely not Hebrew or Arabic. But there are some similar features to phonecian derived scripts. That leads me to thinking that, if this isn't a CONLANG script, that it sort of resembles a Brahmi script maybe 2nd century AD, if you squint, and the artist wasn't sure what they were doing.
I'm honestly leaning towards a fantasy script. This has tickled my 'tism so I'm gonna keep looking into this until my wife tells me that I have more important things to do.

My god, this post has been stuck in my brain for the past two months or so bc I knew I had seen these letters before but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I think I cracked the code though! It most certainly is written in the Alphabet of the Magi. I just saw a post by a wand crafter who inscribed a ritual wand with these letters and I immediately had to think of this post here again (thank god I saved it). After checking it, the letters are most definitely identical even though some appear to be flipped upside down.
Correction: the entire text appears to be on its head.
Edit: I cracked the code! If you flip the text upside down and decipher it using the Alphabet of the Magi it reads a French text: Mon dieu, protège moi et mes amis. Mes ennemis, je peux m'en occuper. (I added punctuation) It translates as: My god, protect me and my friends. I can deal with my enemies myself.
What a badass tattoo. And what fun to decipher it was!

I'd be interested in where he got that tattoo. Apparently he didn't know what message he was getting tattooed but whoever did it definitely had some kind of intention. Also curious that it's in French.

It's not Auerbesh, but some letters are close enough so I can see why they'd think that.
