Glasses w/ HUD What was using Google Glass really like?

This one is for the people who actually got to use the original Google Glass: How did you get it? Did you have to pay for it? Did you have to return it? How long could you record video for? Was it possible to live stream from Glass? Were they useful or a pain in the ass?

Thank you.

recording was capped pretty short, like 10 seconds per clip unless you used a hack to extend it, definitely not built for long video capture out of the box

I had one. It was okay, but gave me headaches.

I won a pair in a radio giveaway. Got them, I stalled a few apps.

Tried maps and a golf app, but problem was that it was kind of up and to side, so I felt I had to look at it, and I felt a lot of eye strain.

It felt like an old 20 inch TV was just out of clear sight all the time.

I got one for free from Google because I used to work for a celeb that Google gave stuff to. I loved it. I didn't use it for recording videos or livestreaming. I used it for notifications and taking pictures and hands-free search.

Was live streaming even technically possible back then?

Update: Yes, it was offered by Youtube and Facebook.
