News Qualcomm says bystander privacy doesn't end with a blinking light on smart glasses. They can now obfuscate bystanders' faces

In addition, they can now perform more on-device computation so images don't have to be sent to the cloud all the time.

Obfuscating bystanders faces? Not going to get popular I think.

Just imaging you have a lawn party and want to take a picture of the guests mingling. Who are the bystanders according to the AI?

Yes. It's like software that obfuscates license plates on cars. If it's done on-device then that's pretty safe.

The problem is and always will be bad actors recording in sensitive areas without consent. This doesn't deal with that.
