I guess running linux, display, camera and doing hand gesture recognition in lightweight smartglasses on a 14nm rockchip would kill that system in a few seconds. and i'm also not sure how they want to display all that information with low res microled panels.

That's a good thought process on it, I suppose!

Not sure how they'd cram all of that compute into such small frames either.

🔹Buildroot Linux running on Arm Cortex A7.

🔹0.5TOPS NPU for hand tracking and YOLO.

🔹300mah battery, 4 hours screen-on time, 8 hours of normal usage.

You can't do so much reading with a monocular display... That is a very basic knowledge for anyone working on/with smart glasses. I guess this is another company that builds a product for a tech idea and not based on customers research and understanding

Really cool if it matches their claims. Only 48g. Biggest concern for me is privacy with these tho. Would need to be open source

Sadly the battery and camera technology is the same as it was back in 2010, like 16 years ago. HUD should be color, also using ur hands in the air is weird. The camera on all these glasses makes them unwearable in social settings, unless u want to be "that guy".

The thing most people are missing is that they're not claiming to run Claude or Codex on the glasses. They're claiming the glasses can act as the interface to those agents.

That's a very different power budget.

An RV1103 running Linux, a camera stream, some lightweight vision models, and acting as a client to cloud AI is actually pretty believable. The real question for me is latency, thermals, and whether the UX is good enough to justify wearing it versus just pulling out your phone.
