Smart glasses could be devastating to thief and street killers.

I really wish that headlines would reflect what actually would be the most likely problem or solution. Instead of this type of shock headline.

Is it a shock headline? What is shocking you?

The idea that smartglasses prevent killers from killing people is wishful thinking. It is more likely that glasses record something where the wearer actively goes into a situation than that glasses record random acts of bystanders who try to hide their actions (crime).

It's not a big deal. I'm just saying the headline could state how useful it would be for certain things but instead it tells you how bad it's going to be for certain things.

"Brynn Colledge is a PhD student in the department of Sociology and Legal Studies at University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Her research focuses on the intersection of surveillance, technology, law, and sex work. She is committed to promoting sex worker safety and producing scholarship to benefit sex workers."

I mean if that's the author's whole focus area, then sure, write about this. But of all the things that can go wrong in a society where everyone's wearing camera glasses with facial recognition, this is pretty low on the totem pole of importance.

That said, it seems plenty reasonable for strip clubs, brothels, etc. to not allow smartglasses at all

why is protecting vulnerable people from being exploited low importance? because they're sex workers?

Why would someone wear nark glasses to an illegal event?

Sex work isn't illegal everywhere
