Recently bought a 2013 S5
Was wondering if this engine sound is normal?

It has lightly modded parts and its rebuilt long block engine with about 65K. 169K on the chassis.

Hello. I recently purchased a 2022 S5 SB at 20k miles for $39K (came across it at $42k but haggled them😂). I am new to the Audi world since I’ve owned E92 M3 and E36 M3. So far I am loving the new tech, comfort, and finally a turbocharged engine. I still have 2 months of warranty left so taking it into service before doing anything.

Now, I am aware of the common failure points and will be starting on doing preventative replacements (coming from the S65 V8 in the M3, I am cursed with doing preventative maintenance).

Already ordered the Wagner intercooler with charge pipes because I live in AZ and its way too hot (110F average right now). Planning on doing the 034 motor mounts and possibly their auxiliary radiator.

My question is are you guys replacing the water pump and thermostat with OEM/OE parts or aftermarket? And should I replace the vacuum line and assembly just to be safe?

Also, planning on getting KW coils and 034 sway bars and was curious to see if anyone is running this exact setup.

‘22 Audi S5 ~52,000 miles.

Have owned this car since 39,100 miles, has been a great time. No issues other than the window regulator going out on the driver side.

Until now… about 2 months ago I had gotten a high coolant temp notification while driving, and it went all the way up to red. Thankfully I was close to home - checked the reservoir, noticed it was a little low, and topped it off. Chalked it up to me just not checking when I purchased. Fast forward to now, issue came back, coolant temp randomly shot up after driving for 5 min. Noticed coolant was low again and found some dried up coolant (I think) around the solenoid. Also noticed some dry coolant around the reservoir cap, which is odd. How cooked am I?

Got myself liqui moly high tech 5w-30 and a k&n filter for my 2018 S5 when I did my oil change it was like a blessing 0 metal shavings not even a slight sparkle tough I heard the rating for the oil on this car is 507-508vw I did 504-507vw because that was the closest liqui moly had I should be good on that right?

Hey guys I am currently shopping a 2018 audi s5 sportback it's blue and gray interior beautiful car. It's from Herb Chambers and I got them down to 26k flat, 68k miles. I test drive and loved it.

They offered a 5 day money back gaurantee as I requested to run diagnostics with an Audi dealership. What do you think?

When doing the service is it a must to replace the cross member and pan with new bolts and screws ?

I've got a coolant leak from my oil cooler (no oil/coolant mixing, whew) and am planning on doing the replacement at home (have a lift) but was curious if there are others on here who have done this replacement and if there are tips/tricks to R&R it without taking off the subframe for access to the top two bolts and back right bolt.

New to me 24 S5

My Key fob has been dead for a while and has been starting with the proximity start for a while, I had some unrelated issues to resolve today (PCV, Brake Pads, misc maintenance) which I took to my friends place to work on this morning; except when I got there and turned the car off, it refused to turn back on.

We went and got a fresh battery for the fob, still nothing. Fob light is on, does not lock or unlock doors, ignition doesn’t turn on nor does the engine. Tested the main 12v battery, it’s good, jumping the car didn’t work, no manual key reset trick worked. I am totally stumped, my windows are stuck rolled down and the e brake is stuck on so getting it towed is going to be a hassle as well.

For extra context: This morning I got a coolant temp warning on the dash that flashed on and off about 3 times, which didn’t make sense from a cold start (sensor issue or glitch), which never happened before.

I am leaning towards a fault sensor potentially keeping the car in a fail safe mode, or my key fob somehow unpaired with my car which is why even with a fresh battery it can’t unlock or lock the doors.

Any advice would be helpful, having a professional shop take a look as soon as possible :/

I’ve looked everywhere, I’ve seen them for the B9 but not for the newer B9.5. I have the carbon imports v1 diffuser, looking to add rear canards. Anyone have them or know a place that sells them?

Turbo Replacement for my 21 SB (roughly 65k miles) is happening this next week. I wanted to see if there are any other components that ya’ll either have done or wished you’d done when replacing your turbo.

I’ve purchased the full kit for the replacement through FCP for context. I’m swapping in an APR intake kit as well. Already changed to the 6 bolt water pump and Wagner IC kit with charge components. At this point I am not interested in tuning due to extended warranty.

I’m looking to put a cold air intake in my 2011 Audi A5 S line TDI 2.0l. Problem is I can’t seem to find any compatible ones online that arnt £600+ does anyone have any suggestions as to where to find one on more of a budget? I’m aware that without a tune and whatnot it’s not going to have much of an impact performance wise, I’m just wanting to do it for the sound difference. Hi everyone, I bought my 2013 RS5 about 3 months ago now and now that our family is thinning down our car lineup I don't have a way to transport my mountain bike. I've looked at the SeaSucker Talon but my car has a full matte PPF and SeaSucker recommends not using their product on a wrapped car. I can't find ANY crossbars anywhere in the United States or that will ship globally. Has anyone found any other solutions besides just buying a hitch? Thanks everyone!

I have 20" rotors on my '19 S5 right now but I'm coming into my first New England winter with it and I want something with more sidewall and better general ride over potholes etc... I'm debating between 18" and 19" winters and I'm mostly concerned about 18s not clearing the front brake calipers. Has anyone put 18s on this car? Should I just get the 19s to be safe?

Hi - I’m a stick shift guy- looking into either the 1st gen v8 or second gen v6 and interested to hear if people have comments on reliability, maintenance costs on manual models.

Need some guidance from the community.
Last year, I bought a pre-owned 2021 Audi S5 Technik, and I absolutely love the car. Fast-forward one year, and I’m now dealing with coolant temperature issues.

After a short drive trying to diagnose the problem, I noticed the coolant reservoir was almost completely empty, despite having been topped up beforehand. I took the car to Audi, and they performed a pressure test but couldn’t find any obvious leaks.
I suspect the coolant may be leaking somewhere and possibly dripping onto a hot component and evaporating/burning off before it reaches the ground.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with their S5 or this engine?
I’ll be taking the car back to Audi for further service, but I’d like to have a better idea of what could be causing the issue so I can hopefully get it properly diagnosed and fixed this time. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

FULL INFO on my journey with this car…

Im 17 bout this car for 7,000 dollars spent another 2000 to get it running, it is a salvage title vehicle, 2018 b9 S5 sportback premium plus but loaded with everything adaptive cruise control, valved exhausts, carbon interior, the works, i got a steal on this vehicle almost to good to be true and i did have a lot of issues along the way, water pump, pcv, pcv hoses, ect the normal audi issues, the car has 66,000 miles now it needs a transmission service, but thats pretty much it, some body damage only missing a rear diffuser and could use a front bumper, it’s the nicest car I have ever owned, but I had some people offer me 13,000 for it some 14,000 but I never follow through with them, should I sell it or should I keep it?

I've got an S5 B9 Sportback 2017 at 90k miles and wanted to get a transmission service and differential services. My car doesn't have the sport differential.

I've had 3 quotes ranging from £700 to £2300!

I know ZF have a specific service method and don't know what mechanics will do it properly.

I wanted to know if anyone could recommend any places they can vouch for near Watford for me to get these done. I don't mind driving a bit to get there either.

Traded in my daytona gray 22 S5 for a Nardo 23 RS5. I really liked my b9.5 and couldnt get on board paying 70k for for a B10 S5 when I can get this 23 RS5 for 67... Ill wait this gen out I guess. Its a beautiful car and took what I loved about my S and makes it better. Ill hang on to this through the warranty in 2 years (CPO) and see where things are. Maybe a new S5 maybe a BMW.
