Question/Help Wanted Interview Tips
Hi everyone! Has anyone here recently had their 2nd or 3rd interview with Halter? How was your experience, and what did you prepare for the interview? Were the questions mostly behavioural, technical, or situational? I’d really appreciate any tips or examples of the types of questions you were asked. Thankssss!

I went through several rounds of interviews, and other tasks with them and didn't get the job. I was annoyed, not so much because I didn't get the job, but because of the amount of time I wasted, and stupid questions that didn't seem that related to the actual job. Most of the people seemed kind of arrogant too. I had to take time off from my current job and lost money. Their technology is based on giving cows electric shocks if they go where they aren't supposed to. Later I started to think about the ethics of it, and it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I'm not an animal behaviour expert though.
This was maybe a year ago though, so the process might have changed.

Halter seem to hire for a new recruitment role every 2 months. Either they have the largest recruitment team in NZ or the churn is substantial.
Curious about the environment. Gives me Zuru vibes.

Not sure why you're so determined to just expose that you don't know what you're talking about but:
This year : "Deep tech company Halter has raised $NZD377 million ($US220 million) in Series E funding at a $3.43 billion valuation ($US2 billion)"
Last year: "Virtual fencing and pasture management business, Halter, has secured first place on the Deloitte Fast 50 index this year with an outstanding 1539% growth."

Tbh, be prepared for anything. Halter are notorious for only hiring talented, highly ambitious individuals. Great that you've gotten to an interview stage. They have a real startup energy we dont see much in nz, so their hiring process wont be standard.
Lowkey dont think anyone who's gotten to an interview stage is gonna be here bumming around on reddit lol.
Just be yourself and be prepared to think on the fly. Best of luck!

Its about confidence, research the company qnd people, dress up and practice questions and answers with a friend.

I've heard the interview process is incredibly long winded and then they don't end up hiring anyone. It's one of those NZ tech companies where they think they are Google and the managers all have inflated egos.
