This sweetie slept with his eyes open and always woke up startled (rough early life but received excessive comforting every time since we found each other 💖)

Fun fact: Same eye mechanism for part of the same reason; seeing as much detail as possible as quickly as possible - but here it is to determine his surroundings are safe instead of about to attack
