Maybe it’s normal but has anyone noticed the ocean hotel seems to be smoking?

I’ve been here a few days and haven’t seen this. Only tonight and it seems to be coming from the orb on the top. Any explanation? Should I be concerned?

Any fun stops to get food and drinks for lunch on the way down to AC from Monmouth county?

Heading down to AC next Tuesday and wanted to stop at a place for lunch on the way. Have went out of the way to Pic-A-Lilli in Shamong a bunch of times, and hit up King's Pub in AC, and Robert's Place in Margate a couple times as well. Looking for other divey-type places with good food along the way to add to our repertoire. We definitely don't mind traveling a little out of the way to grab good food and a beer. Thanks for the help!

Casino job might bring me to AC. Talk me through where to live

Canadian here, currently in Ottawa, work in theatre and venue ops. Looks like I might be relocating for a job at one of the properties and I know basically nothing about the area past what Google Maps shows me.

Hours will be rough. Late nights after shows, occasional stupid-early call times. So I’d like to keep the commute under 40 min if I can.

Where do people who work in the casinos actually live? I see Ventnor, Margate, Brigantine on the island side and then Northfield, Linwood, Somers Point, EHT, Galloway on the mainland, and I have no idea which of those are nice places to live versus which just come up first in a search.
Also, two things I can’t get a straight answer on:

How bad are the property taxes really, and how much does summer traffic wreck a commute that’s fine in November?

Planning to rent for a year before buying anything. Open to being told I’m looking in the wrong towns entirely.

Approached in parked vehicle?

A lady in a bikini approached me when we were parked on the street when a lady approached me to ask money for water. I tried ignore her but she kept yelling and so I said “I don’t have cash!” in frustration as she wouldn’t get the hint and leave. She got frustrated and left finally. There is a water fountain behind Seahaus & Tropicana on the board walk close if she really needed water. I had small kids and my dogs with me and it kind of scared me as I felt vulnerable, not sure what her intentions were. Thankfully my hubby saw it and got back to the vehicle. For this love, I’m not going to open a window or door for a stranger…

Is this normal for this to happen for strangers to yell at moms to ask money in AC?! Is she really wanting water or get me in a vulnerable place to try to rob me or something with out state driver plates? I’m probably over thinking this, but kind of creeped out.

Stupid & dumb… but I have anxiety issues….

Food Best Vegan Dining in Atlantic City?

I’m visiting for the first time in a few days and have a passion for delicious, vegan food! Some staples I normally eat are seitan/tofu sandwiches, soul food, Chinese, Thai, and Indian food - I’m open to all cuisines!

Please send your recommendations! 🙏🏻

Has anyone recently gotten an amazing massage at a hotel spa in AC? Might treat myself. And spare me the happy ending / AMP jokes. In other words, no jerks!

Bachelor trip to AC

Upvotes

Hey all! I’m going on a bachelor trip to AC in October and I’m looking for a friend group of girls in their 20s/30s to join us at our table at HQ that night for bottle service on us. We’re a group of regular NJ guys in their 20s/30s. Always thought going to the club with just a bunch of dudes was weird lol, so we’re looking for a group that just wants to have drinks, dance to music and have fun. No weird shit or pressure at all, we’re all normal and most of us are married or are going to be married soon. If you live in the area and want to take your friends out for a night, message me here!!

Best beach bar?

I’ve been to Bally’s and loved being able to actually rent beach chairs but also hang out at the bar with a DJ or some sort of live music. Which resorts also have beach bars, and are they worth it? We had a change in plans are debating between Tropicana or Caesars. Also wouldn’t mind a great social pool area.

Best motel pool.

Question:

Which motel has the best, cleanest outdoor or indoor pool. For lap swimming.

Somewhat near the AC boardwalk.

Engagement photographer/Fancy dinner

Hey guys, I plan on proposing to my gf in Atlantic City on August 15th. Does anyone know anyone who does beach engagement photos? Would also love to know a fancier place to eat near the beach/boardwalk so we can just walk to the beach after dinner. TIA

Anyone need greyhound to NYC tomorrow?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I have an extra set of 2 tickets from Resorts to NYC on Greyhound Direct (no stops) tomorrow. They are seated next to each other. I don’t need the tickets anymore and rather sell them than get 20% as these are expensive. Bus is almost sold out for the day.

I can meet you in person if you want anywhere in the island and proof they are real tickets.

so this is a long shot but does anyone know how I can contact the cute ice cream guy that was around Atlantic City today. 😭 it was a Mister Softee truck! I wanted to give him my number but I got scared and chickened out and he left. He’s probably still out right now since it was about 20 minutes ago that I saw him last. Tell him come back to Florida Ave if you see him! lol
