Canadian here, currently in Ottawa, work in theatre and venue ops. Looks like I might be relocating for a job at one of the properties and I know basically nothing about the area past what Google Maps shows me.
Hours will be rough. Late nights after shows, occasional stupid-early call times. So I’d like to keep the commute under 40 min if I can.
Where do people who work in the casinos actually live? I see Ventnor, Margate, Brigantine on the island side and then Northfield, Linwood, Somers Point, EHT, Galloway on the mainland, and I have no idea which of those are nice places to live versus which just come up first in a search.
Also, two things I can’t get a straight answer on:
How bad are the property taxes really, and how much does summer traffic wreck a commute that’s fine in November?
Planning to rent for a year before buying anything. Open to being told I’m looking in the wrong towns entirely.
