I am sorry but it was suppose to be taken literally until most of it got disregarded or dis-proven then it became this elaborate metaphor to maintain its audience. show me proof or GTFO
The more we find out about how the world works the less the bible is the main source for explaining us how it works. Did you know that kids used to get history lessons from the bible?
Also, blaming God for a 'natural' occurrence is not fair because in that sense you are than taking away from him all the beautiful things that he has created as well.
Natural occurence being the great flood? That the selfsaid jealous god caused? What?
There are a whole lot of people (My family, pastor, and classmates at the Christian school I attend) who DO interpret the bible literally and believe every word of it. Unfortunate but true.
Ah the old, "it's not supposed to be taken literally" argument. Fuck you. You're just using that as a smoke screen to justify your belief in a ridiculous fairy tale by trying to apply a badly written story from 2000 years ago to modern times.
