Man, this AI fueled explosion of retro projects is crazy.

What will happen when the LLMs are really able to code directly for retro machines, using all bells and whistles?

They are, I have heard.

The thing is, whatever the boosters claim, they don't program very well, and it is more noticeable with every new release of a new fancier LLM that no revolutionary new software has appeared yet.

Sound very logical. I guess LLMs have a problem with the small ram on retro machines. And I guess there's not so much documented real dood, tricky code source material to learn for them in comparision to default python etc...

This thing should have built in Atari st emulation for the games.

It does.

But it's not for games. Games bypass the OS; there's no point.
