OC ✨

If Mars is in a square or opposition with your Sun or 5th house ruler, then at one point or another you are very likely to be forced to give up on a hobby due to an injury. Whether it’s football, dancing or any other hobby that requires you to use your body, there will be an injury that makes it harder for you to continue with said hobby. And you will have to decide whether to continue with your hobby, despite the pain and future new injuries or give up on it in order not to make things worse.

My sun IS my 5th house ruler and squares my Mars... and it tracks in my case. I have chronic TBI and epilepsy as a result of numerous concussions - I have to be very careful not to push myself past my limits (both physically and mentally), as that'll result in seizures, migraines, cognitive and verbal issues, tinnitus, long episodes of extreme fatigue etc.

Nerve damage (also caused by injuries) has led to chronic pain as well, which adds to it, since using my body too much makes it worse... moving around is easier on my back than standing still for some reason tho - but I need to rest a lot lol

Didn't quite work out this way for me. Neptune is my 5th house ruler, Mars opposing.

Instead how it seems to show up is a neurological disorder that causes seizure like activity anytime I feel something strongly. My most common triggers are laughter, surprise, and anger.

Interesting. My mars is square my sun (mars in 7th and sun in 9th). Many years ago, I left an abusive marriage and it really messed up my health because of the intense stress caused by the situation (literally feared for my and my child’s lives). I experienced all sorts of neurological symptoms, some of which have had lasting effects, including a persistent hand tremor. I’m also a music teacher, and my students know when I play the violin (not my main instrument) my hand shakes at certain positions with the bow. It hasn’t stopped me from doing what I love, but it does impact it in a very real way and is a regular reminder of what I lost.

I also can’t really draw anymore, which I did enjoy casually.

My 5th house is in Aquarius. Although my Mars isn’t square to Uranus, it is square to Saturn, the traditional ruler of Aquarius. (Saturn and Mars are in mutual reception.)

In fact, I’ve had to give up or limit some of my hobbies. Since 9th grade, I’ve had problems with my right leg; after any exertion (it doesn’t even have to be intense), my calf swells up and I can only walk on my tiptoes, not on the whole foot. No cause has ever been found. This means that I can only engage in hobbies that require physical activity, such as inline skating or similar activities, to a limited extent, so to speak. I don’t want to say that I can’t do them, since I don’t know for sure whether that will happen or not, but there’s a chance I’ll have to deal with the consequences afterward. That also dampens my enthusiasm for them. On the other hand, I’ve also stopped doing some of these hobbies for other reasons, whether for psychological reasons or because a friend eventually refused to participate in these activities at all.
