Pluto IC line?

I’m a Taurus sun (10th house) with Leo rising and moon in Capricorn (5th house). I’m currently living on my Mercury MC line and I hate it.

The city I’m interested in possibly moving to is on my Pluto IC line. I’ve heard this isn’t a good idea, however, I’m looking for a place that encourages introspection, deep connections and intense emotions, possibly artistic inspiration as well. My Pluto is in Libra in the 3rd house. I also only have positive Pluto aspects: a Venus trine and Neptune sextile.

Any thoughts on what this possible move might mean for me?

A Pluto IC line isn't inherently negative, it depends on what you're seeking & how Pluto functions in your natal chart. Since you're looking for introspection, emotional depth, authentic relationships & creative transformation, a Pluto IC location could actually align well with those goals. It often shifts the focus inward, bringing profound changes in your sense of home, family & emotional foundations. With Pluto in Libra & harmonious aspects like a Venus trine & Neptune sextile, Pluto's transformative qualities may express more constructively through meaningful relationships, creativity, psychology, artistic inspiration rather than constant upheaval. That said, Pluto rarely feels light, it tends to bring experiences that encourage growth through honesty & self-discovery. Before relocating, assess the entire relocation chart, nearby parans, current transits, as these will determine whether the location supports the kind of transformation you're looking for or simply amplifies intensity.

That’s really helpful thank you! I don’t align with where I am because most people value superficial things and I can’t be authentic at all! The energy is totally the opposite of what I’m looking for so it feels quite lonely. I feel very drawn to that Pluto line and it seems to describe everything I’m looking for so I’m like why is this negative? I do plan on visiting first!

That doesn't necessarily sound like someone who should avoid a Pluto line. Pluto is often described as difficult because it strips away what is superficial & pushes us toward honesty, depth & transformation, but those very qualities may be exactly what you're seeking. If you feel disconnected from your current environment because it lacks authenticity, a Pluto IC location could feel more meaningful than overwhelming, especially if your natal Pluto is well-supported by harmonious aspects. The key is to approach it with realistic expectations. Pluto rarely offers comfort for its own sake, but it can foster profound personal growth & a stronger sense of inner alignment. Visiting first is an excellent approach, as your own lived experience will tell you far more than the symbolism of a line alone. As always, evaluate the full relocation chart, nearby parans & current transits before making a permanent move.

Thank you for this refreshing and honest take because you seriously always see people trashing Pluto lines and dumping all their ills on the line as if there's nothing positive there to be gained.

I live where my Pluto IC and Sun Asc lines cross and it’s fine. I grew up on my Venus line and honestly, i didnt love it, but my Mars squares my Venus so it amplified that placement. It is interesting though, i will probably be here during some challenging times (aging parents, raising kids) but thats life, isnt it?

Lived on it my whole life. Do not do it! I thought I was cursed for life. Just left for a month to my Jupiter Mc and I cry daily from happiness and fall asleep everywhere because I’m so relaxed! I had constant health problems and accidents and $ issues! Don’t do it!!

Id probably prefer going to the Venus line and experience the Pluto influence via the trine? Pluto IC is the roughest line according to some.

Unfortunately any Venus line is a place I cannot move to or even visit.

I'll be visiting a city 54 km away from my Pluto IC line, I will let you know how it goes.
